[VGRD] Liberty Vanguard Statement of Founding

I'm not one to try and draw too much attention to myself or my exploits, so I'll be brief.

Yesterday, after much deliberation (and no small amount of trepidation), I decided upon the formation of Liberty Vanguard, a Federation-aligned paramilitary organization operating in a defense and security capacity toward Federation space, interests and assets.

At this time, we do not have any formal plans for involvement in any military campaigns or statements of intent, what we do have is a desire to understand and exemplify the ideals that founded the Federation and to respond, where necessary and able, to any threats (domestic and foreign) to those ideals.

We are not aligned to any particular political party, though the founder and CEO most closely identifies as a pro-military Dove.

We are not aligned to any particular corporation or interest group.

We are not mercenaries and our services are not for hire outside of the Federation.

Our members will be held to a high standard of conduct and integrity.

More information will be forthcoming if necessary or requested.

Thank you for your time.

ADDENDUM: Liberty Vanguard will, when able and requested to do so, assist our allies in the Republic according to their own standards and requests; we have no interest in forcing ourselves into their affairs where unwelcome.

From what I've seen of your spirit so far, your service to the Federated Union will be a credit to the ideals all Galltente hold dear.

I'm happy to offer my personal support, should you find yourself seeking advice or friendship of a comrade in arms.

Furthermore, in my capacity as a diplomatic representative of the Villore Accords alliance I'd like to formally establish standings and cooperation between our organizations.

Federal Defense Union aligned entities have a long history of friendly cooperation between pilots with a wide diversity of goals and aspirations, and I have no doubt you and yours will be welcome.

I can never tell whether it is better to have a hated enemy that you wish to fight, or an honorable enemy that you must fight. A question for the philosophers.

A frenemy you can slap around then go have drinks with later.

A little trust goes a long way. The less you use, the further you'll go.

Good luck to Liberty Vanguard.

Pilot Shutaq - I find the honourable enemy the preferred one, personally. A straight-up fight is often preferable to fighting backstabbing scum. One good quality of many Amarr: many are most certainly worthy and honorable opponents.

Master Antolliere,

In our brief conversations though we have often disagreed there has always been a tone of mutual respect I feel, and even surprisingly to us much common ground.

I am certain that under your auspices this organisation will behave with your selfsame decorum, civility, and intelligence.

I wish you blessings and good luck.

Forgive my lack of understanding of Federal political language, but isn't this a contradiction in terms? I understood the Dove platform advocated diplomacy and reduced defense spending.

Well, at least the corporation name is cool and not-tuber themed! Big plus that! And no dots either! I approve!

In other words, you are going to become "paramilitary organization" aligned with inhuman criminal regime. That will make you a criminal as well and you will be dealt with accordingly.

With fire and steel.

It's quite alright and an easy conclusion to draw.

The Dove platform ultimately seeks peaceful, non-military resolution to conflict. This involves a priority on diplomatic initiatives, responses, interests and so on. Military action is generally reserved as a "last resort" option. Doves will generally oppose any military action that is offensive in nature (invading another nation, setting up blockades or military embargoes, etc) but will reluctantly accept some military action if necessary bring diplomacy to the table.

However, there is a division within the Dove bloc; there are some that promote the complete reduction of spending on military while another suggests maintaining military spending and development as a necessary part of maintaining our security and freedoms.

I would belong to the latter group. A strong military is a must in today's geopolitical climate but I would prefer that military be used to defend and protect, not to destroy or conquer.

Thank you to those that have responded with support. Diplomatic contacts have already begun as we seek to situate ourselves in the ever-fluctuating climate of the cluster.

Captain Shutaq,

Perhaps a day will come when we will no longer be enemies by necessity.

Your Honor,

As always, your diplomatic approach and wisdom are respected and appreciated.

Happens all the time in Anoikis.

In fact corporate friendships and "arranged fights" are so common now days it's one of the more common complaints from pilots who dislike such things.

Monsieur Antolliere,

My very best regards with your future endeavours in the pursuit of Liberty, although I note the well tested-maxim at that times "a good offense is the best defense."
