Corp switching during wartime.

Hello everyone!

EDIT: This question is in regards to high-sec wardecs. I notice I didn't make that clear anywhere in the original post.Straight

I am a relatively new player to Eve and have had a hard time as of late trying to obtain an answer to a question of mine:

Is the act of switching corp during wartime an exploit?

Example:

Corps A,D, E & F are neutral to Corp B, however, when pilots in Corps A, D, E & F find members of Corp B in a system, they switch to Corp C which is at war with Corp B so they can attack Corp B pilots. After the "gankstilities" are over with they switch back to neutral Corp A, D, E & F.


Now Corp B could wardec said neutral corps but this would obviously be a large isk expenditure.


If this isn't an exploit, any tips to counteract this tactic?

My new goal is to bubble a super....but who is going to kill it for me?

Afaik, switching corps to avoid Dec isn't an exploit. The only thing I can think of would just be to Dec the other corps. Corp to corp fees aren't very expensive.

Personally I wish CCP would give individuals the same 24hr cooldown that corps leaving alliances get. It would get rid of the I hop around to corp to corp to gank a target and then dock and leave corp and now safe from war targets and rinse and repeat that a lot of hisec griefers do. Would also still make carebears vulnerable for 24hrs which also makes them affected for 24hrs.

Exactly. You can't switch corps in such a way that you suddenly become hostile on grid, or in a way that allows you to land on grid without immediately being flagged hostile. When you switch corps while in space in the same system, the system can take some time to get your status change to other players, allowing you to land on-grid and start shooting before they know you're a wartarget. I've also seen it result in people being flagged as wartargets on the overview even though they aren't, leading to concord warnings.

It's a bug that at least one dev has said they consider a priority to fix.
