Issues with multiple clients on MBP in new Sisi build.

Issues multiboxing on the same account.

The situation:

When creating multiple instances of the client on the same machine, only the most recent instance will accept keyboard events (typing). Versions created before will ignore keyboard events.

Mouse events, however, work fine for all concurrent instances.

This bug has been replicated with/without multiple spaces/desktops and with/without multiple launcher instances.

System:

Mac OSX 10.10.2 Macbook Pro

So, using multiple clients on one computer is pretty cool! Please look at this before you move the build to TQ.

I am also having the exact same issue tonight on SISI. Running OS X 10.10.3 on my retinal MBP 2.6GHz i7 16 GB of RAM.

So far this has been 100% repeatable. Running multiple clients from the launcher.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll look into this now.

I'd like to state that due to some known issues with multiple clients launched from the same launcher instance, I recommend using clonemaker to multibox with. It doesn't create a new installation but does create separate prefs files that the EVE client and Cider use. You can find Clonemaker and instructions here.

Wait: Is the clonemaker working on clients directed at Sisi? The clonemaker site specifically says "do not use this tool to create a client copy for use with test servers".

That's a fair point, I am using a terminal override to get a clone to work.

We all have to do that just to run sisi at all. I use

open -a "/Applications/EVE Singularity.app" --args /server:87.237.38.50

But that does not work on a clone of the sisi client. I assume some other set of terminal commands are needed.

In this case, my command for the clone looks like this: "/Applications/SingularityClone.app/Contents/MacOS/cider --cmdline=" /server:singularity""

That worked for me too. Thanks!. Now I can try running all three accounts at once and generate more issues for you.

Very glad to hear you've reproduced it! I'll look into cloning.

I have tried using the Clonemaker on the Sisi clients, it did not alleviate this problem for me.

The last client started, either through launcher multiple logins or through client cloning "steals" the keyboard. All other clients have mouse support, but any key pressed in an "earlier" client gets redirected to the "last" client.

Any ETA on a correction?

I have tried CloneMaker again, but the command line:

"/Applications/SingularityClone.app/Contents/MacOS/cider --cmdline=" /server:singularity""

still connects the Sisi client to the Tranquility server, not the singularity server.

Any ideas?

Where is your install for Singularity located?

I tried three sisi clients, made with the clonemaker. It all worked fine. I had both mouse and keyboard control of whatever client I had front-most. No client stole any input.

Note : I am using OS 10.9.5 on a MacBook Pro. Maybe this is a 10.10 issue?
