Isn't Fanfest the place to buy them all a beer Blink

But some of us can't go to fanfest, which is why they should have a machine in their offices that dispenses beer whenever someone sends them isk.

I mean, if we get enough, I'd be more than happy to buy them a panda.

i'v been playing damned near 12 years.. paying my sub each month, I see your point, but negate it. Also it's not a 'free' update, it's just included in the monthly fee.. I am guessing you are one of the people who say they have "free text" or "free mins" on their phone contract, when infact they are just included in the monthlies. If Eve were free to play and only extras were paid for then I would agree 100%

I have for over 11 years paid my monthly sub, I expect a fun, updated and working game, simple as that.

If you want to reward someone for doing their job then good for you, hell we need more of you in the world, but for now i'll just stick to allowing CCP to be kind, great, willing and over and above enough to allow me to pay them to play this, how humble of them.

Thanks CCP for taking my money in exchange for a service, I salute you, if only other organizations would take my money in exchange for trying to supply a service that does what it is meant to... oh wait..

/edit/ for the record i think CCP do a good job, but if you want to buy someone a beer, go down to you local shelter and buy a volunteer who does alot harder work, for alot less a beer.

*applauds*

Couldn't agree more. I love this thread for some of the things posted on it's first page.

My continued patronage and subscribtion is the beer I'm buying for CCP. I'm still buying it, despite any huccups and despite having a bad experience on one account. That's thanks enough. ^^

Wouldn't a bear be a better use of my money? Especially if said bear was trained as a mining slave.

While CCPers may be paid, there's still a lot to be said for the guys that woke up at 3am to deal with an unexpected emergency; a thank-you is a decent thing, at the very least.

I wish I got beer every time I got called up from work on a vacation day or on evenings/weekends because some program doesn't work or some other crap, while usually it's just because they have no network connection or something silly like that lol... or I wish I would get paid for it at least. ShockedLol But oh well...

I guess that's mostly my own fault though, for not actively searching for a more appreciative employer P

This always bugs me. EVE is a good game, I like EVE, and like to play EVE, but there's nothing about it that's leading in any way. When it was first released the idea behind it was fresh and new, but the technical ability over the years has led to a game which is painfully slow to realise significant feature changes. Take for example the UI, we've only just gone from having a terrible UI to having a slightly less terrible UI. POS code or corporation code is another one, it's been needing to be redone for more years than I can even remember, and yet we're still waiting on those, which will likely be partial changes at best when they come out.

Even one of the main things EVE is known for is a farce. EVE boasts huge player numbers in battles, but have you been in one? Between TIDI and soul crushing lag, there's no way those battles can be classed as actual gameplay.

The way I see it EVE is a good game and fun to play, but that's really it. I don't see anything over and above the average. As for the main topic with CCP coming in to sort out server problems, that's just part of the job. If you run a 24 hour service, you need to be available if something breaks out of hours.

As for the rest of this thread, this is a really good indication of Western entitlement, and how bad it's gotten.

Human beings got out of BED to restore a video game service for nerds with too much time on their hands and an extra 15 bucks (ie they went above and beyond for a non-emergency). Louis CK was right, the miracles of modern technology (which is what EVe online is) are wasted on this crap generation.

I don't get the hostility. If OP wants to tip CCP then they can. It really doesn't effect us in anyway. It's their own mony anyways why do we care how they spend it...

People are getting so angry! "I already pay CCP enough" ok sure. Don't tip them then? No one is forcing you to

Nobody is getting angry, simply defending my right to not tip people for any reason I see fit without being insulted by those who think I'm mean for letting them get by on their salaries alone.

The random defensiveness is what is weird. No one thinks you are a bad person, or at least not before you started ranting about people suggesting a way to anonymously give CCP tips...

It's called informed and intelligent consumerism.

You don't see people bouncing around in their favorite coffee shop, throwing tips at the staff and shouting in glee because they got their coffee machine working again. You say "Thank god, was sick of waiting, here's my money where's my coffee, please?"

Consumers online, particularly in games, tend to look at things differently - with stars in their eyes. Because here, unlike in the coffee shop, the product relates more to your imagination and fantasies, rather than filling your belly or waking you up.

Reason being, imo, is it's easy to look at online game as a playground someone made just for you, and not a product you're actually paying for. Really, it's no different to that coffee.

This is the problem. You types think everyone is this way.

Hell, I was in that situation (dunkin donuts loves cops, free coffee and 50% off donuts too, even if a cop eating a donut is a sterotype, those things are delicious) and after seeing the amount of BS the guy went through jsut to have to tell me that decaff was out this morning, I thanked him for his effort.

I'm serious, there is something terribly wrong with our society if your reply is "Thank god, was sick of waiting, here's my money where's my coffee, please?" after watching someone struggle to get a machine working for your benefit.

You people are amazing. And you think I'm the problem?
