A POS in hi-sec. Is there any value to it over using NPC stations?

How do you make money to pay for itself and have a higher income than just using NPC stations for buying and selling goods? What benefits does a POS give in hi sec that you cant get from an NPC station?

This is a fairly good explanation of what a POS offers a highsec industrialist. (Incidentally, it was on the first page of the forum when you posted this...)

Very approximately, the break-even point for a small POS is when you're running enough jobs to earn you about 400m profit per month in an NPC station.

thanks, then new question. how do u take down a POS when a turret is incapacitated? Do I have to rep it until it works again in order to get the tower down?

So it turns out I dont have remote hull repair ability. Is there any way to just trash the turret and take down the tower? I'd rather do it tonight than have to wait.

In order to unanchor a module from a tower, the module must have 100% hull and armor. I've never actually tried to unanchor a tower that still had structures anchored around it. But I imagine you have to unanchor the modules first.

So the real question is does it take enough time to rep the modules that simply blowing them up and buying new ones would cost you less than the value of your time to repair them? This is why we see so many abandoned towers with damaged weapons around them.

I bought a logi cruiser just for this problem and it took 2 hours to deal with. I don't have any firepower to have taken it down like that.
