Ship for running lvl 1-2 missions ... again ...

Hi,

I'm returning from a long break, and I'm wondering what ship you would use to run lvl 1 and 2 missions. I need to fix a lot of standings, and I'm hoping to get a ship that can breeze through them quickly. Maybe a destroyer? Some T2 frigate?

Money and SP aren't a concern, and any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I had to grind myself through L1 - L2 recently and I had quite a lot of fun with this fit:

[Algos, L2s]

Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Internal Force Field Array I

Experimental 1MN Afterburner I
Medium Shield Extender II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II

Light Electron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Electron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Electron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Electron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Electron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S

Small Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer II
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer II
Small Core Defense Field Extender II

Hobgoblin II x2
Warrior II x5
Hobgoblin II x5

To be honest I barely used those guns, drones just ripped everything to shreds easily.
And tank is more than enough for anything L1 and L2 can throw your way, it's basically 60%+ omni tank giving you 12k ehp, if you lose it in L2 you definitely did something wrong.

Check out Svipul and Confessor might take a bit to train but it will be worth it.

Also, tank is not really an issue for 90% of the missions so fit hyperspatial velocity optimizer rigs so that you can save time in warp. Assuming you know how to fly missions and fit your ship, warping is the biggest time sink in mission running.

Any destroyer with some range will do well in a level 1 or 2 missions. A RLM or LM Caracle will also so well in my humble opinion.

Thanks a lot for all the advice so far.

I reviewed my skills and realized that I've never trained any racial destroyer past 2. For some reason, I skipped right past those to cruisers and the rest.

Is there a destroyer that I could train up for these missions that would also be good for later PvP?

Again, thank you in advance.

All dessies are legit for pvp, which one will be your favorite depends totally on your preferences. Projectiles, hybrids, lazors, missiles, drones - choose your poison and kill somebody with it :)

Couldn't agree with it more. Warping around is when your boredom can start showing up so you should cut this time as much as you can.

Dual 180mm Loki with nothing but gyros in the lows and tracking computers in the mids. Maybe ungrouped 650mm artillery instead of the dual 180s.

Edit: maybe a MWD or web in the mids as well.

An interceptor? Because it's fun, or because it faster than a destroyer (or both)?

ceptors are fine if you doing in null Blink
all ceptors have immune to bubbles

When there is lots of stuff to kill, inty is not recommended. In the missions that only require you to kill one or two things or that just require you to scoop and leave an inty is preferred. If you have one on standby there are certainly times it will come in handy but I wouldn't use it as the primary ship, unless as Mr Mac mentioned you are running in null sec (even low sec to a lesser degree, there are no bubbles to avoid in low sec but very fast align time is certainly nice to have in hostile space).

That's not a great fit, no rigs, meta 0 modules, active hardeners on a dessie etc the idea is there though. I'd definitely go for a gun ship for blitzing level 1s and 2s as you really don't want to deal with waiting for drones to burn around the grid or missiles to reach their target. Most rats in these missions are so weak that you can blap them with 2-3 guns. Coercer is a great ship for it because of the projection and dps. Also as mentioned above warping around is a huge timesink to doing these missions so a couple warp speed rigs will be great. Here's a Coercer fit I threw together:

[Coercer, PvE]

Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste
F85 Peripheral Damage System I
Heat Sink II

Experimental 1MN Afterburner I
Sensor Booster II

Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S
Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S
Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S
Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S
Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S
Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S
Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S
Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S

Small Ancillary Current Router I
Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I
Small Energy Collision Accelerator I

You can shoot up to 45km with Aurora and do 200dps at that range or 350 dps @ 13km with multifrequency. The warp speed rigs take up CPU so fitting a second one is very hard to achieve but once the changes hit they won't have a penalty to CPU anymore and I'd probably trade the dps rig for another warp speed rig.

If you want to go pro-mode you can use a Confessor, you can get instawarps using the changing mode trick, 2 warp speed rigs brings it to 6.3au/s warp speed and it can deal 250dps out to 63km.

Algos is the easiest to wreck L2s without putting any thought into it because you don't have to actually drive, just target things and send in the drones, and you can stick an active armor omni on it that's cap stable and more than able to deal with L2s usually low incoming damage.

Other destroyers are equally fast (actually probably faster in many cases) but you have to actually fly them around and worry about ranges and such, which may be a pain if you're doing missions out of a sense of obligation to your standing with imaginary electronic people instead of because you enjoy them.

I'm using this for the 1-2 grind. I'm actually thinking about trying to blitz some lvl 3s in it as well. It's a tight fit. I have solid fitting skills, but I still need a 3% cpu implant. As mentioned, it won't be so bad after the changes to warp rigs.

[Confessor, Confessor PvE]

Small Armor Repairer II
Tracking Enhancer II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II

Experimental 1MN Afterburner I
Eutectic Compact Cap Recharger

Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S

Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S
Small Focused Beam Laser II, Aurora S

Auto Targeting System I

In my humble opinion, a Thrasher T1 Dessy is a L2 destroyer (Pun intended)

Fit it with 220mm artillery or 200mm (Tech 2) autocannons with barrage. Put an afterburner in there. Keep everything at max falloff with AC or optimal with Arty and watch the magic happen. Make sure arty is in groups of 2 not one big group.

I use a worm. I'm sure you could make it better but:

[Worm]
Pseudoelectron Containment Field I
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II

Experimental 1MN Afterburner I
Small Shield Booster II
Cap Recharger II
'Copasetic' Particle Field Acceleration

Arbalest Compact Light Missile Launcher

Small Capacitor Control Circuit I
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer II
Small Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer II

I used to use an Arbitrator for level 2 missions, it worked perfectly
