I mean, it should be common sense to not "risk" what you can´t afford to lose but no need to bash him all over again. I guess the Jita locals burned him down enough.

Just don´t trade like that any more except it is with a friend/coorpmate you know and you are aware of how the trade window actually works.
Besides that, smile on the people who make the most fun of you, most of them did something similar stupid at least once so you are not alone.
2 Plex is much in the beginning or at least for most people but you can make up for it pretty fast. I for example deathcloned through ~4billion with 2 pods, let my brother who never played EvE welp 2 factions cruisers because I was too lazy too grind some standings back then (~1.6bil each) and some other things.
Most of that not on this account but well, so far but it still hurt my wallet a bit. So far I never got scammed because I simply don´t sell plex outside of the market and use contracts just when I know what I am doing. In the end it´s not too hard to not get scammed just read the details and follow some simple rules like mentioned above and in this thread. Knowing the scams can´t hurt either but if you keep your trading stuff within the market, don´t buy weird things, don´t do contracts/courier contracts that look too good and don´t engage in trading pvp without knowing what you do and by not starting little you should be fine.

Whenever I felt like coming back to Eve I came to these forums, read a few posts and reminded me that people in here are the absolute worst gaming community has to offer. It beats LoL community by miles. I failed today though. Dumb promotion.

A normal person would. I feel your pain. I guess I kept being disconnected from Eve douchebaggery for all these years, or perhaps I just have more empathy than a rock.
Then again, I remember accidentally selling my Megathron for 600k. And it was the one that GM returned to me after a Goon used an exploit to destroy it :D
First it made me sad, but now I am laughing about it. My lesson was much cheaper than yours, though.

I think losing real money in Eve is the worst thing. I don't think that is very funny or that you should be insulted for it. You worked for it, and nobody respects that.
It's like playing with legal thieves. Literally.

Don't come to the forums asking for help or pity. It's a trash can for trolls with mental issues and complexes. Last Eve player I met in person was an obese man with horrible skin problems.
I can tell you that I have met less nice people in Eve than I have fingers on my one hand.

I'm getting sick by reading this thread.

Not because of the initial post, even if it was a stupid thing to do. I'm rather sickened by a crowd of people bashing an individual because they spend a few frickin years on a game and now feel like the badass of the block. It's no wonder eve has a relatively small amount of new players if even the place where you go to get _help_ is so toxic.

People coming from other games (Yes, there's a world outside of eve) may trade personal because they don't know different and CCP simply doesn't care to actually fix the trade interface or remove it completly. You can do all kind of things with it including linking wrong item images.

In the end, try to get over it. If you can't, it's probably not the right game for you. You won't get any reimbursement.

I am having trouble believing it, not because of this. But because to pay 3months worth of subs, for 2 months worth of gametime to sell, when only 6 days on clock is left ticking, rewrites the level of stupidity's boundaries.

The other issue is it didn't come to our fine section of the forum first. We here at C&P pride ourselves on our customer service and our interactions with our fellow capsuleers
