My biggest waste of $60 (Hint: it was a game)

2 Things: First: I bought BF2 and BF3, and now I have to pay an additional $15 for the maps I have in BF2 to play them in BF3?

Second: gameplay is far too meh. Maps with vehicles turn into paper-rock-scissors ordeals where you cannot defeat a tank unless you are an engineer or in a tank of your own. Caspian Border comes to mind... just cannot stand that map. And squad spots: I do better for my team to hide in the corner and just provide a close spawn point than assaulting.

That's the point on an engineer...(And that you need a well rounded squad to be effective) Although you can kill em with support class/c4 and with assault black em out with constant smoke nads... And plenty of places to hide on Caspian to take down tanks.... Or go where they aren't. Or on caspian there are stationary AT.

If vechs are a problem I usually switch classes or get into other vechs to deal with em.

Map pack was free for me so... I can't really complain. You dont have to buy it.

Its paper-rock scissors for me, and smoke and C4 are unlockables and not initially given. Paper-Rock-Scissors was the biggest complaint I had from 2142 because you got too locked into a role. Having advantages to roles is nice, but making it the only viable way is kindof meh. C4 from support, yeah, good luck, and smoke doesn't hide you from tank IR which most of them run.

If everyone had ways to deal with vehicles at all times, vehicles would become worthless since they could be ganked by just a few people of any class.

If everyone can deal with everything with any class, classes become pointless and frankly, so does teamwork. The way it works now you actually depend on others to succeed, not just personally but as a team, and tbh, that's how it should be in a game like BF.

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

So after 4 years of a personal boycott against EAGames (they treat their customers worse than dirt), I decided to buy Battlefield 3 so I could play it with friends.

My god, this game is terrible. Sure its pretty, but the entire thing felt half-ass (even more half-ass than this post). Going through the campaign, every gun fight was EXACTLY THE SAME. AI was a complete joke. Now I know this isn't a single player game, but I was still disappointed.

And the multiplayer, I can't stand it. The combination of amazing full auto accuracy at 200m out, a tagging system that makes it difficult to hide/play sneakily, you can't play competitively or even make a difference on the battlefield unless you have 20+ hours of in-game play time (and this isn't from experience, but because of the unlocks you need).

I still think Battlefield 2 is a better game. BF3 just doesn't feel right, and I should have known better....

they ******* do.. EA is sh!t. ive never experienced worse costumer support in my intire life.. *shocking*

Besides that, they are depressingly proud of their mediocre achievements - remember battlefield two? u HAD to sit there and just watch the logo "E. - A. sports.. " roll by, without exception... ******* wankers man.. seriously..

Anywho - ye.. pride is a great ladder to a faceforward... phlat .. fall.. or wut ever ( not english ) anywho..the bastards will hopefully learn when their costumers go "NO to the ******* wankers in E.A. and YES to everything else."

Ive spoken my piece, you are excused.

it is better then the last 4 iterations of COD though.

Hey nice comment I think I'll put it in my garden with the rest of the BULLCRAP!

COD WaW was EPIC. It's multiplayer was a blast and the four zombie levels brought a depth and feel to zombies not present in any game fore or aft. Also Elena Seigman's zombie theme songs were sick.

And don't even get me started on MW2. The campagin in that game was like watching a GODDAMN ACTION FILM.

Smoke nads do block out IR on vechs... I know for a fact... having run IR on said vechs. (Though zoom optics is more useful 90% of the time)

And yeah classes lead to greater team work, and needing to rely on your squad/others.

168 hours on BF3 here and loving it.

It does have its problems though, but for me playing hardcore only helps, it does address some of the issues I have but not all of them.

@ the OP, give hardcore a shot before you bin it altogether.

I dont have BF3, instead I bought MW3 biiiig damn mistake.

The game was decent on single player, but once I joined the wallhacked aimboting multiplayer the game is pathetic, coupled with lack of kick options, and a good anti cheat software the hackers are ruining the game big time.

you can be playing with non hackers and have a decent score like 18-14 k/d , then some leave and a bunch of hacker all join and off you go to play, and those guys hit 30-3 k/d why your entire team does no more then 7-15 k/d or worse

and since there is no kick system or ban system, and VAC from steam sucks and take like 6 months to ban someone anyways if it detects the cheats at all, the game is pretty much dead for me.
