Sup guys,

So tried putting this on Reddit (only site I can access on the servers at work) to no avail so far. So.. I've been thinking about joining FW.. full time. (no, "Hey, I'm gonna have an alt on the other side and farm missions when my main is losing) And well, I got a couple of questions regarding etiquette and LP.

The basics, I think I get, I was able to find enough stuff on the net at work. Capture plexes for lp. Contest systems, call in friends to flip systems. Do some missions for more lp, kill the enemy. Ok.. got that. But

1: The LP that corp gets. Should we ever and if so, when? Invest it into our staging system to raise the level? Whats the benefits of this?

2. Point of defensive plexing and stabilizing a system? Like say we invest in our staging area.. do we need to constantly toss out plexers from it to make sure we maintain control? When and where do we need to defend? *EDIT* And if we do lose control do we get locked out of our station until control is gotten back?

3. Etiquette.. does everyone just horde up their LP, boost 6 or 7 systems to push to another tier and then cash in for the isk?? Or how is all this suspected to go? I've watched the warzones move back and forth for a few years.. with people even switching sides at particular times. The only reason I can guess this happens is.. Isk. Switching to print isk while higher control is in affect.

4. Lastly, should I look to join an alliance (if I started my own corp again) or just join one of the bigger guys and let them walk me through it all? And just to confirm on the last point... I can shoot enemy militia people on gates without gate guns annoying me right?

Anyway guys, thanks ahead of time. If you just got some end all, be all website with the info.. Link it and I'll take a look.

1. LP is earned by pilots and there is currently no way for Corps/Alliances to tax it. Donating LP to hubs is only worth it if you are looking to boost/maintain tier levels for higher LP payouts and/or to draw more farmers to your side.

2. If you don't defend your system and the other side decides to take it, you won't be able to dock there. Most Home systems are kept under 30-40% by the people that live there.

3. Most people will burn through their LP occasionally to get the isk they need for ships, many people keep a reserve, and some few almost never use any of it until they want a big purchase. When there is a coordinated push of the warzone the average contribution from active members is probably between 100 and 200k lp. Some will donate a lot more (millions).

4. That's up to you. If you are only happy running your own corp, then that is what you should do. If you want to lean on experienced folks then join a group that has been at it for a while. If you want to join an existing corp look over the killboards and get a set of options, then look into each of them before you decide to apply to one. And yes, you can shoot wartargets everywhere (just like in any other war).

Beautiful, just beautiful.

Thanks Thanatos, that really does clear up a few things.

I don't know, figure I just wanted to get into a more "Goal Orientated" Pvp setting. Sounds fun and occasionally I let this game slip into the Job descriptor. I'll give it a shot. Appreciated.

Also, is there any other way besides plexing and missions for the militia corp to raise standings with them? Apparently during my time roaming around low sec I have managed to completely tank my standings to pretty much every one of the militia's. lol

Anyway, thanks again.

Missions will be the fastest way to repair your standings with whatever militia you join. Capturing complexes will boost your standings too, that is how I opt to gain my standings because then I don't have to stop fighting. If you're worried about your standings then you could try joining an existing militia corporation, however many groups and leery of their collective standings too because if they drop too low they can be booted from the militia. To that end, I'd suggest chilling in the general militia, join fleets whenever you can and once your standings zero out apply to my Corp. Because it is going to be awesome.

Are your bad standing with the main faction or just the militia corp? Bad Faction Standings can prevent you from joining the militia on your own.

Naw, Minmatar faction rep is just peachy 6.something. Bout the same for Gallente. 4 for Caldari and 1 for amarr I think..lol.

Just rep with the FW npc corps. Federal Defense Union, Tribal, ect. Blows. -7 with Diplo 3.. It does really suck that people out of Faction warfare, lose rep for shooting players that are in faction warfare. Seems a little off but whatever.

Appreciated Moglarr, I'll give the grind a chance and see how much I can start pulling off of just plexing some sites and.. lol we shall see about the corp. Looks like your guys are going to be squishy with multiple arms.. Not sure if I'd be able to handle the change. ;)

Because pvp is the easy part. Go in a site hunt down some people. Bait some others to shoot at you... Sit on a gate. Someone will take a shot.

The whole concept of being able to make money while pvping is new though. Especially if a couple of newer people come along and ask questions, would like to be able to answer them. :D
