Faction Warfare questions

Not so much a new bro question as a question from an old bro new to faction warfare.

I love doing logi in small/medium gang PVP.
My corporation that I love is not doing much of that and I want to do it more.
I hear that faction warfare fleets are always looking for logi.
My question is: can I leave my corp, join a faction warfare corp, do logi in fleets during the week, leave the faction warfare corp on the odd weekend and rep for my normal corp when they need it (which is not often) and then rejoin the faction warfare corp?

I know that if a corporation is wardecced, you have to wait a week to rejoin (or something like that) so if this happens to my corp, I have to wait a week from leaving, which is fine.

Does this apply to faction warfare corporations? Can they be wardecced?

The other solution is to find another character with good core skills, all T2 logi cruisers and logi 5 and buy it. I have been looking for over a month and those are not easy to find.

Faction warfare corporations can be war dec'd and they usually are by pirate corporations that your enemy faction will hire to fight for there side.

I wouldnt advise switching corporations every week just to join as logi in faction warfare.

You should be able to join a fleet as a non faction warfare member if you want to just do logi. You will get no benefit except loyalty points if all you want to do is join a fleet as logi.

I would just link up in-game with an active faction warfare alliance and become blue with them. (your major concern is faction warfre pirates who will target you because you are nuetral in faction warfare space.

just drop your corporation and join faction warfare permanetly. it will be better in the end. faction warfare is fun for small gang pvp.

Like the guy above said I wouldn't hop between corps, I would definitely consider getting a new toon.

It does not take long to train a logistics alt especially for the t1 hulls that are commonly used in faction warfare.

Having a seperate toon for FW would be best, as above you would have problems with faction warfare people shooting you when they are not in your fleet if you are not in the faction with that toon.

If you do get another toon, why don't you go full pirate! much more fun.

If you get involved with FW you are going to have to deal with neutral pirates. In fact I think I get attacked by neturals more than I do by war targets. Also, if you leave a corp every time they are war decced, pretty soon you may not be able to join a corp due ot them seeing your employment history and you leaving often.

Where is your current corp needing reps? High? Low? You don't necessarily have to leave the FW corp to fly with your friends. You just have to be aware that you are at war and may run into war targets that your fleet can't fight in highsec. You could also join a pirate corp in FW space (very similar style of flying without the actual wardec). If you fly purely logi your sec status should be fine and you won't even lose access to highsec (but if you fly any DPS you'll eventually ruin it and have to pay or grind it back up).

PS if you decide to go the multiple character route, keep in mind the t1 logi cruisers are actually pretty decent (also much cheaper). You can probably entertain yourself flying those on one of your characters (the less used one?) while you train up logi 5 and cruiser 5s.

The actual FW fleets are looking for fights, not farming LP, typically. So you can just join the roamer fleets and play with them without losing out on any particular benefit.

Your sec status will go down, possibly, but that's about the only potential downside and it's always a risk in low-sec combat even if you are in FW (there are pirates out there, too).

Ok, I have spent a month in FW now with my logi character and have corp jumped 3 times in that time:

Corp 1: (Gallente)

Great FW corp, unfortunately US TZ, had some nice little roams but almost NO need for logi ever. Left them sadly, good people.

Corp 2: Neutral, not FW

NO roaming early EU TZ, nice logi fleets but very late at night (I am on Eve +2 time)

Corp 3: (Gallente again)

Another FW Gallente corp, EU TZ, I log on and beg for fleets every night in alliance chat/galmil chat/corp chat... nothing. Some fleets that need logi on late night weekends.

Getting pretty tired of this. I have had some offers of joining pirate corps. I am not sure if I like the idea of pirating, but if I can get small/medium gang action early EU TZ and logi on fleets later on in the evenings and weekends more reliably than FW/neutral then I will look into it.

It is very frustrating, I tried solo PVP in FW but anything I attack that "looks" like is is solo in a plex is quickly surrounded by non war target buddies obviously in a fleet and I get nailed. Every single time the people that show up are not war targets, all neutrals.

Anyone have any suggestions?

You might consider joining one of the alliances that live in Providence (nullsec). They will make use of logi more than in faction warfare (from my experience). I personally found faction warfare (I was with Amarr) a little boring unless I wanted to look for solo fights as fleets were not organized as often as they are in Providence or Red vs Blue, the two groups I have found a lot of PVP with. There are in fact a couple corps that are both in faction warfare and friendly to Providence to get you the content from both, a lot has to do with where you feel the most at home.

Suggestion taken, asking around for EU TZ Provi alliances that will have my logi character.

Thanks!
