EVE won't start

Well I'm having a problem with starting up the program. It took me all day to basicly stabilize the internet so I can download EVE Online and return to the game after a year or so of hibernation so I can enjoy myself before I go for BCT at Ft. Benning. The problem I'm having however, is that EVE won't start.

Here's the step-by-step process of what happens:
I double-click the shortcut, game proceeds to preload with pop-up screen
pop-up screen disappears
30 mins later, no game

Any fix or work-around? I got the client from Steam after I saw it in the main store screen before I looked up Portal 2(which is working but not EVE >:( ) and I can't play... total bummer. Hope there's something I can do without having to reinstall the whole game again.

Sometimes the Steam install fails to complete. Can you locate and run the DXSETUP.exe file which should be in the bin -> DirectX folder of your client. If this does not work please submit a petition and we will be happy to offer further assistance.

Well that's what I figured, so about three-four hours ago I went and downloaded the client from the eve website and I got it working.

I want to note that Steam installed the Incarna expansion instead of the Crucible expansion so there's obviously a lack of update on their part. It's possible that it's the cause to the failed install, who knows. All I know is that now I got my favored game back.

Sounds like someone forgot to submit Crucible installer to Steam if Steam is still offering Incarna...

lol... could be a Steam-side error. This wasn't the first time I got a game from them that wasn't developed by Valve that didn't work as intended.
