I looked at Veers killboard, he has 1v1 combats in there, that is what real fights in Eve are all about?

You make comments as if you are someone who does these things, you do not, I don't care if you think I am an idiot, your words have no value, you express an opinion when you have no value at all. You call me an idiot to me its a compliment, if an idiot thinks you are an idiot, great!

You talk about PvP stuff and make sweeping dismissive comments as if you are an expert, you are not.

Also killboards show nothing of what you are doing and or have done, on your alts.

What he said ^^^. The kb only shows what you have killed and lost..nothing else. It shows nothing of other achievements. Nor does your wallet. TBH, a kb is great, but it's just another way some like to wave their epeens and judge others because theirs is "bigger than yours".

What measures success more than a kb is what you have accomplished, what respect you have..be it from friends or enemies, and what difference you've made for someone elses eve experience...and let's not forget the most important thing...how much fun you've had.

What I find very odd is that they will kill everything that moves for no particular "reason", or do highsec agro fu to nail a fat bling boat, with no potential for high profit margin or purely on chance, and then in the forums claim that the killboard is not such a big deal.

I remember a day when a 1 month noob could fly lowsec and most players would have been ashamed to have a killboard full of month old T1s and pods.

Now it's common and when they are put to task as you have done, suddenly "we are not our killboards".


This raises another issue though. If the killboards are not important, then what meta-reason are they killing for?

is it really so important, the loss of a virtual starship in a video game

games are meant to be played for fun, some of you guys clearly don't have fun, maybe because of ganking, but realize that despite ganking, others, plenty others still have loads of fun in EVE, so maybe it IS possible, despite CODE. being around, to have fun in this game.

So now there are few ways to go about it

1. cry and whine, and ask for the game to be changed to YOUR liking (which may or may not interfere with the way others actually do have fun with)

2. adapt and evolve

CCP already, I believe, made it clear that they don't see ganking as violation of their EULA
so this is not going away, deal with it.

so either adapt and evolve and find out other ways to have fun
either keep playing a *game* that is not fun to you (it's not supposed to be fun for everyone), which is pretty stupid, as games are meant to be fun

or just find another game to play; a game where you can actually have fun.

it's just sad to see people logging in even tho they don't have fun with the game anymore. sounds like something rather unhealthy to me.


The question is what YOU can do to have fun, DESPITE those setbacks

in life there's always setbacks, challenges to overcome, eve is no different

obviously, MANY people find lots of way to have fun despite CODE. being around, so it is YOU who complain, who are doing something wrong.

Speaking of Marmite, I have 87 of your characters on my watch list, these are the ones we have spotted in space and have killed stuff recently and at the time that I post this there are 9 online. That made me chuckle and I like it...

If you read the forums as I have done since I have been playing you will notice firstly how lame the forums are, I used to really enjoy reading C&P, now its an echo chamber for people who do not do anything in game. And yet they post as if they do, its rather sad. So all I am doing is having fun by pointing out that fact, if you think I am in anyway freaking out then I suggest you need to look at yourself.

In affect I just took an obvious pile of bull and flogged it to death for lols, and while doing so I had the pleasure of seeing them all talk like carebears, saying ISK generation is more important than blowing up stuff, it was pure pleasure for me.

CODE are content creators, they are fun, the setup is rather amusing and is fun to get in the way of, they are now rather ineffectual in terms of mining ships, they just kill noobs that are stupid, so they have moved off to do freighter ganks as part of Miniluv, they are very good at it and the struggles around a bumped freighter have been epic, some times they kill it and sometimes the AG group save it.

Marmite just camp hubs and pipes with fast locking ships and mainly kill noobs, they are very good at what they do, if you go after them with an organised fleet they run. I had a friend who was once a leader in the Orphanage and Marmite are effectively them but now, he liked talking about the approach, I listened to what he had to say. It is interesting to see just how fractured the hisec war deccers have become again.

So just chill out about people playing forum games, I had fun pulling the leg of someone I consider as full of hot air, nothing more than that, but if you want to see it as freakin out then that is your problem....

In all the time I have been in the Anti-Gank channel I have seen him in there once and he said hello and that was it. If that is organising it behind the scenes then I have to wonder.

Well as a long time reader of C&P I repeat that this forum is a mere shadow of what it was, most of the posters are like the one I had fun with, self-important windbags who do nothing in game. If telling the truth about the decline of this forum is an insult then feel free to take it that way.
