Hey All!

I am on a trail account so I it seems I can only post here. I am having a weird problem with my eve launcher. Sometimes it works and some times it doesn't. It won't fully load all the background pictures and stuff on the launcher and I can log in but the play button is greyed out. I thought it was maybe my internet so I used my hot spot on my phone and it came right up. Is it something with my internet provider?

Most probably yes. Run a ping plotter on the server.

I have the same problems with it when my internet service provider is doing something wonky. It's likely not you or the launcher.

How do I do this? If you do not mind me asking.

*edit it's working now again, I will admit my router is old I may just need to buy a new one.

I have *exactly* that problem often.

I have found that it comes up if and only if one of the following is true:

- The launcher was loaded just after the computer was turned on
- I alt-tab out of the launcher before it finishes loading

Generally I turn the computer on, wait a minute or two, then load the launcher without loading other programs, and it works.

that sounds like a connection problem to me. Can't say where exactly, but somewhere between your computer and CCP's servers a hamster needs reps.

same issue here, works fine for updates etc, ive started just bypassing the launcher from the folder in program files> ccp > eve > bin > exefile

Happens to me all the time, but mainly when I am being impatient and trying to load other stuff at the same time as the launcher. Just close it and try again, giving it some time on its own. It's a bit flaky.

If you don't need an update (or all those fascinating news links) you can launch EVE from exefile.exe which will be located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\exefile.exe" or similar, depending on your OS.

I've occasionally had problems that way.

But I have the same trouble with Steam sometimes.

In part, it's to do with windows doing an asynchronous startup. Gets you to the desktop faster, doesn't always have everything started.

If you:
boot your pc
Give it a couple of minutes before logging in
start the launcher

you'll probably have no trouble.

Thanks guys! You where right! I play on a laptop so when I bring it out of sleep I just have to let it sit for abit before launching the launcher. Thank you again for your replies!
