Eve Moons - Why So Grey?

I don't have much to say about the topic, I'm hoping the community would agree with me. Why is it that every moon orbiting every planet in EVE looks so much like earth's grey, desolate boring moon? Resources and mechanics aside, the moon textures are a fairly big realism pitfall. So much of EVE is beautiful but the moons suck!

We know from our solar system alone that moons are nearly as diverse (and in some cases far moreso) than the planets themselves. From the enormity of Titan's cloud-covered surface to the high contrast bightness of Iapetus. The enormous geysers erupting into space from Enceladus are awe-inspiring and the sulphurous hell of Io is terrifying.

Some moons we know about have giant rifts fracturing 3/4 of their surface while others are oddly shaped...even flattened likely due to recent collisions. CCP has a beautiful universe, why not make it even cooler!

Moon reskins fall under the category of "things that nobody really objects to, but doesn't want enough to push for it over other things they want more"

I know I really only see a moon when I'm at a POS somewhere, and even then it's unlikely I'm paying much attention to it.

Now maybe if the new POS rework puts them in a closer frame to the moon so it takes up a significant chunk of the screen, I might be more interested in the background scenery.

But currently..... meh, I dgaf.

I think in many cases you can see moons more often than a planet. You may say at least or around 60-70% of stations orbit a moon, so you see it probably more often and closer than a planet.
It would be cool to get some variety into the moons in the future, maybe even something similar with gas planets, bit more attention to the atmospheres of seeing the activity like stronger winds, hurricanes and so on, or adding ash clouds to lava planets from the volcanoes.

This should really only be addressed when moon mining gets a re-hall, until then, its just to make things pretty (which isn't bad) but when moon mining changes, like they said in fanjets about maybe having chunks get drilled out of the moon which then ppl can mine in there ships ect, then the moon maybe can start to reflect what kind of resources are held inside ect. Then it can have some kinda gameplay function.

I would also say maybe they should show how intensively they are being worked, but I think this should be shown clearer using a beam of some kind attaching the POS module to the moon rather than any texture effects.

Also, as far as I am aware, the moons done run out of resources, so representing depletion would not be a needed function. Nevertheless, what ever textural rework that gets applied, should be for both gameplay feedback rather than just immersion.

On that note, there should probably be a texture layer for plants which shows up when a planet is being worked hard in PI, like the city lights you see on the night side of the planet. This can show clearly to people how heavily a planet is being worked and therefore if they should look for another to put there PI. And if someone should stalk the planet to see the likelyhood of any haulers coming along.
