For some months now I have been experiencing major disruptions in my game play.
I keep getting socket closed disconnected which totally sucks when your in e middle of a mission or a battle.
This happens everytime I log in.
I have contacted my ISP and they say everything is okay at there end no problems. I don't have any issues with any other system here in the UK. This disconnection happens on my laptops, Imac and PC.
I go on regular business trips and have had the disconnection happen in Spain and Belgium.
I have raised a ticket and CCP have basically said they can't help.
I have not renewed training on my other account toons because what is the point if i can't get any enjoyment from the game.

It will only be a matter of time before I cancel my main account.

If anyone else is experiencing this issue please post

This unfortunately sounds like a local issue. Since you're experiencing the issue in multiple locations, we can certainly rule out your ISP.

Are you playing on a laptop at home which you are bringing with you? If so it is likely that some software on there is intermittently interrupting your connection. Consider firewalls in particular, but also be aware if manufacturer's bloatware and the possibility of malware (I suggest getting Malwarebytes or similar to check your machine).

Do you have a permit which allows you to ask for stuff for UAE?

I DON'T SEE A PERMIT IN YOUR BIO, INFIDEL!

I find it interesting how a lot of people are having issues with EvE and no other games yet CCP says it's not their issue and will not provide the tools to determine where the issue is even though these tools do exist CCP has disabled them. But CCP ranks right up there with EA in helping customers soooooo I guess the best option is to quit.

I fully understand that this issue may not be local to CCP but clearly there is a hop taken for a decent number of people that is bad and it would be nice to find out where it is.

The new Win-dohs tends to try and put your network card to sleep for power saving reasons.
EVE might not be giving it enough of a wake up or poking the operating system.
Try turn all these sorts of "features" off.
Where ever possible also connect hard cables, the latency from wireless can really kill any streaming.

If they said THAT then likely, as other people pointed out, a local issue (between the chair and keyboard......local).

Why punish yourself due to a lack of, or failure to solve the problem? Do you cut yourself as well?

Every time I have raised a ticket with CCP they have been very structured in how they work through the problem step-by-step. I find it hard to believe, as your title suggests, it is a "CCP server problem".

Any problem I have encountered when it comes to Eve has been "read a book"......any book (dock up safely first, or stop trying to log on). I recommend Kevin Mitnick. By the time I am done reading the book, as well as cross-referencing info in said book, CCP will likely have solved the problem - or I will have discovered a workaround (ingame).

Most likely, that or CCP hates parts of Europe lol.

I recently purchased a new system (windows 8, yuck) and configured it the way i wanted (killed off all the bloatware crap, turned off everything i don't need and will never use etc) and Have had 1 'socket closed' event in 4 months, where as they were fairly common before that on my old system. Who knows what the problem is, but if CCP didn't cause it it's not CCP's problem (which makes the title of this thread stupid and needlessly provocative).

In general, if CCP responds to these things by throwing up their hands and saying, "Sucks to be you, but it's not our fault", they end up losing customers. It's in their best interest to find the fault that's not theirs and see if it can be worked around. That's what keeps people subbed.

For example, if it's due to an operating system setting, why not look into it and provide settings advice. Advice is free and people who might otherwise quit will stay because CCP took the time to say, "Hey. If you click this button, the game won't keep dumping out to the desktop".

Compare that to the typical forum warrior advice of, "**** you, moron. Go away with your whining and never come back".

I wonder which one might be more conducive to retaining a player base?

Networking settings could be the issue

Change these:

Multimedia/Gaming Enviroment - Value "Enable"
Roaming Senitivity - Value "Disable"

Also update your Lan drivers
Always flush out Modem regular
Power Management: Allow your computer to turn off this device Untick this box

Get a program called CCleaner for deleting cookies & such.

EVEBoard ...Just over 60million skill points, each skill was chosen for a reason. I closed my eyes & clicked another skill to train... "BINGO...!!!" ... "This time i got something usefull"

Boot.ini

if ccp makes a mistake, and tells you to do 'x' to your pc and you wind up breaking it worse, thats a potential law suit or other issues.

To the op: i have not had any issues unless there is a big outage, or its been my pc being dumb. Your isp might be fine, and ccp's servers might be fine, but between them and you is still alot of random chatter. Any of thouse links can go down at any time for any reason. And its neither ccp's nor your isp's fault. in addition your computer could be having issues. Again, not ccp or your isp's fault. your best bet is to try and isloate the issue, if its on your end or what.

like if you are on a laptop using wifi, grab an eithernet cable and plug into your router and see if that helps. if your stable them the issue has to do with yoru wifi. if you are connected with a cable, then try wifi. there are other simple steps to try and isloate.

If Windows (7 or 8) is awaiting the installation of updates, this happens to me a lot.

After I install all updates it seems to go back stable again.

I play Eve and WoW at the sametime sometimes. I get Socket Errors and logged out of eve and takes a long time to get back in, yet WoW is perfectly fine and no lag????

Want to explain this?
