I get anxious when moving expensive stuff but I think that happens to most of us.

I have high profile IRL stock trades and own a restraunt where mistakes can cost hundreds (even possibly thousands of dollars) or really hurt people (nasty burns). I'm calm through all that. When I undock with ~1bn in cargo from Jita 4-4 I almost poop my pants.

People with anxiety disorder or major depression. I'm not kidding here, I suffer from both and have to say that playing eve makes my symptoms worse, reason is that eve is not just like any other shooter game, eve has a lot of psychological intense situations, psychological warfare. So I would recommend people with mental disorders to take that into account, when playing this game.

p.s. sorry English is not my first language, and inb4 the local EvE General discussion trolls start to hijack and rip my thread apart, with their high-school hallway BS.

Friend, if this game makes your symptoms worse like you say then by all means, stop playing.

A video game should be played to have fun and a good time if you have some time to spare. If a video game somehow has a negative effect on your real life, for whatever reason, the reasonable action is to quit the game.

That irks more about everything, not just mental health issues lol. I tell peopel all the time that I get that they are disappointed in some way with EVE or CCP, and it's 100% their choice to continue to pay for access to ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE that does not fully entertain them. Me personally, when EVE starts ticking me off so much that every day I have to come here and post that "CCP better shape up or all of us will be playing X new game next year", ima just stop playing EVE lol.

But hot damn I wish they['d stop acting like CCP is crapping all over it's customers because they don't make new themepark content for them or let them walk their imaginary selves around an imaginary space station in imaginary designer dresses (lol) or whatever. I can't help it when I see the "EVE is dying, not because it's really dying, because because the video game company isn't catering to my exact wishes" types post and think "damn, I'll bet that poster takes some form of mood altering drug" lol.

Would wonder about what that would bring.

if mining makes you anxious and depressed...
if building makes you anxious and depressed...
if station trading makes you anxious and depressed...
if a bunch of other things that don;t involve shooting makes you anxious and depressed..

then i hate to say it, but you might want to think about quitting, and give me your stuff.

You can easily find a back woods system away from people and mine all day happily. Hell i've done it.

You can easily setup shop and build things with no worries. i've done this too.

Eve has lots of angles, if you have major depression and anxiety then you really should get it looked into cause it sounds like its not under control.

While i will agree that pvping, and being in busy systems and in ls or null can cause anxiety attacks, there are plenty of places in eve where there is ZERO interaction. 7k+ systems, you can find one where you are alone. even in null.

So if its causing you problems.. then you probably should not play.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

Do you know what is the diference between being a good person, being a bad person or being a insane person?

Being a good person is saying "one of these days I'm gonna crash this damned plane", but never do it.

Being a bad person is never say a word and actually crash an airplane and kill 149 innocents.

Being a insane person is being locked in a place of your mind whose only exit is to die doing what you love even if you'll take 149 lives with you, and yet be nice enough to do it in a place where no bystander will be hurt, and proceed so smoothly that nobody will panic and suffer with thoughts of their imminent death until the last moments.

And why is it always these wackjobs who make up definitions?

Listen to this man, he's giving a sound advice.

Eve is like a giant virtual high school yard. It exposes what people truly are. If you show weakness, they'll purposefully try to make your ingame life as miserable as possible.

Trust noone, don't fly anything you can't afford to lose, never grow attached to anything ingame, assume that everything that's too good to be true is a scam, and generally don't give a flying thukk.

If you can't, this particular game might be not for you.

Really? I thought it was just a game I played to have a good time, socialize with friends, blow up other spaceships and laugh when mine gets blown up.

I didn't realize it was a mask-removing, person-transforming hate machine.

Huh.

New Eden isn't nice. It isn't friendly. It isn't very hospitiable. Good thing there are people here to shoot in the face.

Want to make New Eden a nice place? Try this out.

Exactly.

I've trusted a ton of people, flown a load of things I couldn't afford to lose, grown attached to plenty of things/people, been robbed, scammed, blown up countless times and even cheated on.

What a ride. Big smile

Well all the defensiveness to this statement.

CCP - Building ant hills and magnifying glasses for fat kids

Not even once

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

instead of coming up with something else that doesn't fit.

"Jerky reactions" does not fit to "death threats etc.".

You people are nuts and dangerous. Who knows what you people do when
someone ACTUALLY does something that ACTUALLY affects your life!

Death threats for space pixels?
So am I risking my life for talking to these people IRL
and saying something they don't like?

Or will you now tell me that it's only a game and how I am overreacting?

Btw that portrait of yours is well done.

An advice for an advice: travel abroad and open your mind. You'll be shocked to learn that most people in the world do not take everything to the letter and don't mean to kill anybody when they are upset and say "I'm gonna kill you!" to a internet stranger... Roll

As someone who deals with depression and anxiety in RL along with being an introvert I find EVE to be a way for me to feel better about the day. Even the worst moments, when I've been ganked or robbed, or **** just goes South I can say **** it. It's not reality, but an outlet from it as all games are. The thing about EVE is it shows you everyone's true colors since it's not really them, just a version. Lighten up and take it for what it is. It's not real harm or loss. Just a slight annoyance
