no, not really dude, i can say it's part of the issue but not entirely the issue. there's alot of respectful people out there who plays this game. it's just a matter of finding them, and i am lucky enough to be able to find and be a part of a group that consists of awesome space friends.

An entire page and no one has yet asked for his stuff? For shame, GD.

People with anxiety disorder or major depression. I'm not kidding here, I suffer from both and have to say that playing eve makes my symptoms worse, reason is that eve is not just like any other shooter game, eve has a lot of psychological intense situations, psychological warfare. So I would recommend people with mental disorders to take that into account, when playing this game.

p.s. sorry English is not my first language, and inb4 the local EvE General discussion trolls start to hijack and rip my thread apart, with their high-school hallway BS.

Why would anyone rip this apart? It's true.

You can tell a lot of players (and posters...) have, well, lets call them "issues" (lol). Hell 25% of humanity suffers from some mental health issue or another at any given time, it's natural and normal.

The problem comes from the fact that some people with these natural issues go to insane lengths to deny the fact that they have them, and this seeps in to every aspects of life, even playing video games. The easiest form to observe on these forums is when you have some conspiracy theorists claim that some game change that affects them (or some CCP hiring decision lol) is obviously some form of under-handed badness on someone's part lol.

If more people could do what you say above (ie take their own personal conditions into consideration when making decisions about what to do, in this case, what games to play), the game (and the world) would be a better place overall.

Hey look at the person who can't seperate game from real life.

The bad people are those who wish ill on those who shoot them down,
in a game where you can be shot down by anyone.

OP, everything you have said about EVE could be said tenfold about real life. Real life can be unforgiving and cruel. One key difference being that in EVE you can eventually recover from any loss you incur.

I won't pretend to know your feelings, but this forum is the absolute worst place to lay bare your feelings and hope for psychotherapy.

Being a jerk to people in a game is still being a jerk, period. Obviously being a jerk in this context does not include blowing up someone's ship. It does include words and behaviour intended to make someone feel bad.

I had a bit of an anxiety attack once when I posted with the wrong character and revealed my main.

I got over it though. Promptly sold that character and created Mr Epeen. There's no such thing as too paranoid in this game.

I suffer from severe depression and anxiety that causes severe physical pain and you don't see me complaining.

and actually the mental capability needed to pay EvE actually helps, as the vast amount of things I can do in eve keeps my mind occupied.

there lots, even things that seem boring like mining can keep you busy if you focus on more then just staring at rocks, I myself go through a crunching of the numbers

No, the problem is people who take what happens in game seriously. Honestly folks, it's a game. If what happens to your space pixels causes you actual physical distress, then you need to unplug for a while and go outside. Find some real world problems to deal with; that will help put your Eve issues into perspective.

Eve is like an addiction; you can't quit it until it quits you. Also, iderno

It's not unusual. Take some distance if you need it, OP, and anyone else who ever feels similar.

Though that can be hard if you invest a lot of time, money or emotion into what you do in a place like this. It's often about balance, regardless if you're suffering from a mental illness. Don't be afraid to talk to people about it, even if that means a forum thread to express yourself.

Yeah, that happens. But I'd say a jerky reaction isn't the same as deliberately setting out to be a jerk, although both of those examples reveal a flaw in their character.

Players with issues continue to play a game even though, they are fully aware that may cause further psychological harm....yet wanting everyone around them to adjust their behavior to soothe their anxieties, paranoia delusions, insecurities and depression.

Wishing you and your family death,
because you blow up space pixels, isn't just a "jerky reaction".

And it's not "jerky" either to play a game the way it's meant to be played.

You can argue against it all you want. CCP themselves prove you lot wrong
and logic as well ... but please tell me more about how the bad people are
those who do not wish you harm or death IRL.

You're fine. Or would you wish death on me for mining your rock?

Gee, we should make this a thing. And then people complain and wish us
death for mining "their" rocks and people will rationalise it and explain
that we're sociopaths.
