Hi, I'm running EVE on Ubuntu 12.04 and WINE 1.6.1 since 2 years without problems

Since the release of Scylla I have serius connection problems.

I get random disconnect and socket closed in many different situations (exiting a station, when some other pilot enter on grid and sometimes just sitting in station).

I have downloaded all the database (I thought the problem was the connection) but nothing changed.

Morover if I try to run the repair.exe it delete part of my shared folder then fails and I have to dowload several GB againg.

Anyone have similar issue? Any help?

UpDate:

I run rescache.exe: found 6705 file missing.
Using the launcher eve.exe didn't show me any file missing.

I'll submit any news.

Update:

A lot of players have the same problem after the last patch with all OS.
You can find a lot of topics under issue & workaround main channel.

Scylla update went unexpectedly smooth for most linux users, it seems. Maybe something went wrong with the whole cache juggling going on, and in the process your client got ******. Is reinstalling from scratch in a new wine prefix an option?

Ok fixing the missing files didn't help.

i have a debug file when I had the connection lost.

Maybe it'll be useful for someone.

Here the file:

Now I'll try a new installation

I would also recommend that you upgrade to the latest WINE version 1.7.38 fixed issues for me and runs a lot better than the 1.6 version.

Start the day off slow and taper off from there.

Thank you.

I updated to wine 1.7

and

tried a new installation on new prefix but connection problems are still there

BUT

it seams that a lot of players with different OS have the same issue.

I set this topic CLOSED and send back to Issues & workarounds main channel.

SOLVED

I updated wine to 1.7.18 (latest stable on Ubuntu 12.04) and reinstalled in a new prefix

CCP delivered a patch some days ago and I haven't had any connection lost.

Thank all.
