Weirdness...was my account hacked at some point?

I came back after several years of not playing (last subscription says it was 2013).

I come back, and look at my skill history, and it says I finished training some skills at 2015.03.05. I mean, I don't mind that much, just kind of odd. Was there an update that would have caused skills to train? Were the skills that were previously set to train when I walked away somehow listed as being trained then?

You should really file a support ticket to tell CCP you're worried that your account might have been compromised and to see if they have any records on it.

What skill was it and was it the last skill you set before your sub lapsed?

Lykouleon > CYNO ME CLOSER so I can hit them with my sword

There was some drone skill that got changed or something. When I got back I got the same thing but in the notification it said 'GM Skill Gift'.

Was that roughly when you re-subbed?
Your queue gets paused when your sub runs out (plus a few of days I think).
If you had a skill near completion when it ran out then it would complete when your re-subbed.

I can't find it in the notification list now. I was going to take a screen shot. Oh well. I am sure that is what it was.

The neverending game of skill being shuffled has happened. Skills were added/removed while you were sleeping. The universe kept evolving and expanding during your hibernation.

Also check to make sure you don't have unused skillpoints on your character. Depending on how long you been away you may have downtime points or reimbursement points.

ah, that was when they changed 2 drone skills to 3 (drone avionics, light and medium drones operation)

I had this happening to me a month back after dropping my subscription for a couple weeks. My skill training ended on the first week of march, I hadn't logged in after training finished. The my gametime ended, my skill queue was empty, and when I logged in again, the history showed my skill as finished on the day I resubscribed.

2015.03.05 I assume is the day you logged in after being unsubscribed, correct?

When your subscription ended you probably finished training a skill in the meantime but didn't logged in to your character to confirm. This has something to do with the new Notification System, which keeps certain information from updating in our character sheets, like skill queues history, when our subscription drops. Maybe some safeguard to prevent ghost-training or something.

It is very likely just a quirk of the changes they did overall to how skills train. You probably must have noticed that skill training is no longer capped at 24 hours, right? Unless you have a negative wallet, you probably weren't hacked either.

Alternatively, botting with a skilled up miner. Since you know, bots accounts for the vast majority of hacked accounts.

As far as "giving it back", I had to change the password.

This is like burglars breaking in and giving you stuff.

Happened when the skill queue change occurred probably, when it went from only being able to queue upto 24hours or 1 long skill to nigh unlimited
