Hi !

I'm sure I'm not the only trader here who always wanted to know if the money i'm making is worthing the effort, and how are the other player managing their efficiency.

So I did a google sheet where you have to write basic input information based on your trade and the formulas automatically generate a score you can compare with others.

Here is the google document you can acess in order to compare your score : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zMqqUXl64b7UFTOKtOCqlS1svLANQn8CXAI2n8_k0Bs/edit?usp=sharing

The needed data are :

The investment: How many Billions you have for your sell and buy order, on average.
The gains : How many Billions you earn each month, after tax cut.
Activity : How many orders do you check every day.

Based on those 3 inputs it calculates two variables :

The yield : Wich is simply determined by your gains divided by your investments.
The Labor : Determined by how many millions you earn daily divided by how many order you check every day

And then the final score is calculated by a multiplication of the two variables (with a different weight for each)

It works pretty well since everything is balancing the other variables. You can eventually get a high score in the yield or the labor, but only someone managing his trade efficiency really well will be able to score a high number for both.

Unfortunatly, productors are not allowed to compare their score since the labor only consider the number of order checked. There is also two divisions : Station trading and trade including hauling of some sort.

Also, please don't modify any of the formulas, but i'm open for any discussion cocnerning the improvement or eventually adding some graphs,

Not sure I done it right - looks a bit wrong ...

Score : 641

Should more have been like :
"Average for a good trader."
"You are doing it right !"

Well, it seems extreme to me Lol

Making 50B of profits per month seems a huge amount. And if you check only 6 orders per day that's even more amazing. Maybe I misjuged the ladder.

Let's see the other players scores.

Fun initiative, but :
Angelica Everstar 6 orders per day? That is a joke I hope. It certainly does not reflect the workload you put into knowing what to trade *in*.

For instance, you are much more knowledgable than me, but that's because I don't follow the game :) If I invested my fortunes in just 6 items, I would go bankrupt within a month, because tbh I have no clue what I am doing, I trade based on pattern recognition mainly lol.
,
a) A much better measure IMO would be how many hours per day each player has spend in EVE on average. Put that up there please, then I might join :)
b) And for number of orders, make clear the participants should multiply by how many times per day they look at a price for an item. E.g. I check prices 2 times per day, 0.01 iskers typically a bit more.

My eff on this probably so low as new trader due to fact that i just spread out investments a lot and this will probably be similar/same to other small traders

Gave it a try, with my initial investment two weeks ago 565m and now 1.7b total profit i'm at 500 score. With sell/buy orders being at 1.2/1.4b now it's more like 255 score. 57 total orders checked which is my max atm on this new char i started out to try trading two weeks ago.

He said 6 orders per day, he could trade in hundred of items and only have to refresh the orders only every 3 months.

Or he could have omitted the penibility of other factors (production... hauling... whatever)

That was exactly the first title I tought about !

Also, I've modified the score formula a little to have a more linear distribution.

I think , the more loot I get the better chance I have to sell it , even though I have to haul it.

To calculate how much it costs and keep track of how much I make, and how much it costs me to track it is capitalized in.
