The bubble of DRIFTER threat

Since the appearance on our skies a celestial phenomenon designated as "Caroline's star", unidentified structures and ships started to appear in our space. First they were cloaked structures. Then these circadean seekers have appeared. At first they were unarmed, but under constant capsuleer attacks they started to carry weapons and help each other when attacked. Then structures decloaked and these drifters have appeared.

The drifters carry on board rather potent weapons, but so far they have resort to their usage only when they are attacked or approached. Having shown superiority over capsuleers in equal number fights, they avoid of taking first move. They simply defend their operations from intruders.

I don't know of any civilian causality caused by Drifter invasion, and all the lives lost are crewmembers of the capsuleer vessels and capsuleers themselves, who were intruding into Drifter operations.

Nevertheless, quite multiple capsuleers and groups tend to advocate the theory of drifter threat, concentrating power, spreading mood of terror and diverting pilots away from dealing with the real threats.

Meanwhile, Sansha Nation continues their incursions into our space, millions of lives are being uplifted, their brains are scrapped out and replaced by sansha wiring, making them into a drooling mindless soldiers, like any sansha follower or sympathiser. They try to make them look like real humans, who would "sympathise" Sansha cause, but we all know that any human with working brain would never join one of these drones by their own will. Despite our forces keep clearing sansha infestations daily, count of lost lives increases every hour.

From the other side of the cluster another threat emerges - the Gallente Federation, an extreme fascist dominative criminal oppression regime, who forces others to bend under their heel by unending streams of propaganda, masked as entertainment media, turning peoples into zombies and savage brutes, who would adore individualism, freedom, democracy and sink in hedonism, pleasuring just themselves instead of working for common good and peoples around them. When people resist their braiwashing, Federals pick their arms and go to war, resorting to genocide, racial cleaning and inhuman torturing. We all still remember their bombing of Caldari Prime, their "operation Highlander" ended in millions of lost lives, their attack on Malkalen station by Federal Navy nyx, their Death Squads in Black Rise, and I hope everyone already know how inhumanly they threat prisoners of war in their not-so-hidden anymore prison facilites in Black Rise (just a probe scanner will help you find one, if you care about Caldari lives - go there and help them!)
Moreover, the war still rages on, both military personnel and civilian lives are lost because of gallentean threat.

So called Drifter threat is thus just a diversion. Instead of shaking waiting for Drifter attack or just poking them with sticks to see how they will respond, I urge everyone to open their eyes and turn their heads to the real problems of our clusters. While YOU might be playing with these Drifters, peoples are still DYING to Sansha zombies and Gallentean occupants!

When these Drifters will start killing us, we will reply to them as we should, but for now, please, put your weapons to the good use and save lives from being taken by Sansha and Gallenteans. Fight for what is really important and against what is really dangerous.

Be vigilant, and let the Winds be on your side.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

I was there, five years ago, when Kuvakei returned. When the incursions began.

It was the one time in my career when capsuleers of all affiliations banded together to combat a common enemy. Given the threat to the civilian populations of the galaxy, we figured that CONCORD would respond in kind, lacing together some kind of mult-governmental response. At the very least, we expected the individual navies to be activated. Five years later and I see that the Empire, the State, the Federation, the Republic and CONCORD have done nothing. Not anything of note. The incursions continue. Thousands die every day. Kuvakei still strikes into the heart of HiSec with impunity.

That our collective governments are treating the potentially greater threat of the Drifters in the same lackadaisical way is frightening, but not very surprising to me. The Sisters and CONCORD know way more than they're telling and yet this threat to all of us goes unanswered. For those of you who follow the "kill-reports" take a look at the statistics for the Tyrannous corp. I recently did and it is very sobering.

I swore a vow to defend my King and my people, but I think some new methods are in order.

Ah, Pilot Kim.

As Pilot Mokk says, capsuleers were and are the only real force fighting Sansha's Nation and their incursions.

So far, the closest we have come to a government or CONCORD response is giving capsuleers threat analyses and warnings. In my opinion, this is one hell of a lackluster response.

Now, while it may be premature, capsuleers have begun to respond to what appears to be the next Nation-esque threat: Drifters. While they do not attack unprovoked, true, allowing vessels with that firepower freedom to roam around high-security space would seem to be a bad idea.

If you want to let the most powerful vessels since Sansha's freely roam your space, that's your prerogative; but here in the Republic, we actually learn of the term "preemptive strike". I cannot say I am averse to attacking and/or eliminating the Drifters if at all possible.

I would rather not see us fighting both Nation and Drifter/Sleeper vessels, never mind that they're apparently hostile to each other. Again; if you wish to commit strategic suicide by fighting on two fronts, go ahead. Just don't get between others and their Drifter targets.

As a collary: please do not bring your personal hatred into this. I sincerely doubt the Sleepers care if you're Caldari, Gallente, Amarr, or Minmatar.

While I think of course Kim's analysis of Nation and the Federation are way off the mark, I actually fully agree with her on the Drifters. While I have heard reports of them firing on people for trespassing, my own experiments have shown they will not fire or even lock on, even when the ship is right next to theirs. The only way I have observed direct offensive action is after attacking them. And after that, they went about their business.

Maybe their end goal is a threat to us, maybe it isn't. They are scanning and collecting jovian tech. So far the true threat here is the Capsuleers. If there is a storm to come it is one of your making. Capsuleers fired the first shots in this conflict. Never forget that.

As long as we fire the last one, I'm fine with that. Attempts at communication have been met with silence and I can't imagine what the empires are thinking allowing such powerful vessels to roam their space uncontested.

I told everyone to not attack the Seekers, but did they listen? Noooo! Of course not, that would be silly! Not attacking everything that moves with missiles and charges? What's next? Ban slavery? Pangalatic peace? Pardoning the Guristas?

Now their owners are pissed and not in the mood for long lasting friendships! Good job guys!

That's the thing, isn't it? They have been talking. They've been talking to CONCORD. I think their silence is far more profound.

I too was there five years ago, right beside him in the Promised Land, but I saw the True path to unity was with the Nation not against it.

In any case, aside from the bit about the Nation, I think Diana is quite right.

Well unless CONCORD just pulled the whole Tyrannos thing out of their butts, there has to have been some level of communication.

CONCORD most likely has limited access to Jovian Directorate databases where they acquired the information from.

Wouldn't be the first time CONCORD blew smoke up our ass. I still wonder if that door in my quarters actually leads anywhere.

O.O WHAT SORCERY IS THIS!?! I DEMAND TO KNOW WHAT INCANTATION YOU USED TO OPEN THE DOOR OF FORBIDDEN WONDERS!!!

Really though, every time I try to open it I just get an error message saying that the air is unsuitable for capsuleer consumption. I can call shuttles to take me ground side though.

Hmm, sounds like you may be looking at the wrong interface.

I know sometimes they can be hard to decipher, regional dialects, old stations, etc.

Some interfaces will tell you that you can't venture into the station. The same interface will also tell you that you cannot go ground or planetside, in fact it will go so far as to tell you that you can never actually be face-to-face with another capsuleer.

As we all know, of course, this is all incorrect.

You made me to remember that incident about four years ago when literally everyone was locked in their CQs for quite a while because of the faulty keys or something. It, too, said that time something about the atmosphere unsuitable for consumption. People in Jita got so mad, that when they finally undocked, they shot a nearby monument to pieces. I believe the locals still call it "the summer of rage" and fire at the ruins of that statue each time they're unhappy with the authorities.
