So basically I was going to train for a tengu, but I think I might want to look into the new Jackdaw coming soon. Any ideas on what to train to be as prepared as one can be? I'm thinking Destroyer might be a safe bet, but what else? Subsystem skills or the likes?

edit: Before you write any snide remarks, let me be clear. I was talking about special skills like subsystem skills and the likes.

Durrrrrrrrrrrrrr

He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight.

He will win who, prepared himself, waits to take the enemy unprepared.

If you think it's a stupid question, just ignore it. I obviously needed the answer or I wouldn't have asked the question. Don't need to be so patronizing about it.

edit: I also just realized I could just check the current two tactical destroyers ingame and draw my conclusions on that. A point that slipped my mind :) Still don't need ******* answers though :)

You could also have looked at the other Caldari missile ships and drawn your conclusions from them. The snarky answers are due to the fact even a modicum of thought would have brought you the answers you were after. Instead, whether it's the actual case or not, the way you phrased your post, it gives the impression you're being a touch on the lazy side.

I was actually wondering if it might need some more not-so-obvious answers like subsystem skills or the likes. I've been gone for several years and only really started playing again like 2 months ago, and I honestly had missed the two other tactical destroyers already in game. So please, cut me some slack. I didn't mean to sound rude, but there really was no need to be patronizing.

T3 destroyers require no special skills. There are racial Tactical Destroyer skills, but no subsystems. Train toward maxing out a Corax, and by the time the Jackdaw is released you'll only need to inject one skill.

Thank you! :)

And thank you everyone else. I have my answers, the thread can be closed.

Then phrase your questions more specifically, instead of as vaguely as you did. How you present the question can often convey how much effort you've in vested toward understanding a situation.

Yeah, I should have phrased it better, I admit that. I still don't see how I deserved rude answers though, there was nothing rude in my first post in the first place.

For the Jackdaw? Hmm... I'm thinking you'll need Galente Battleships V, Large Projectile Turrets to at least V and maybe get your Indy and Science to III... maybe IV.

It was just a joke, pumpkin. Just bustin' your balls a little.

Seeing your edit...

All the standard missile boat support skills + Destroyers to V and Tac Destroyers are high as you're willing to go (assuming some worthwhile bonuses will be based on that - unlike the Strategic Cruisers). Fitting skills are no-brainer, you want and should already have them if you're thinking about getting into a T3D. Focus missile-support skills. It's likely going to be an LML and/or Rocket boat... which means it will have a brawler and kiting build. Kiting requires speed, brawling require brawn and high-dps/alpha. Decide how you want to play it, train accordingly.
