What happened to asteroids in missions?

I seem to recall some starter missions from when I played before having asteroid belts in them that you could do some mining in before completing the mission. Cashflow for Capsuleers being one. What happened? Did they change that? I just went through the missions and saw nothing for asteroids. Little bit of extra cash would have been nice.

Not all missions have asteroids in pocket

What I'm saying is that I specifically did Cashflow for Capsuleers (onto 6 of 10) and there weren't any roids in the mission. I remember that being one (and from I've seen online as well). Just an empty pocket.

imo if you are looking for "cash flow" an asteroid belt is the wrong place to look.

Back when I first started playing there was only 3 Career Agents. After CCP added the other 2 Career Agents I was able to run them again. Since then the whole NPE (New Player Experience) has been subject to change quite often.

I believe CCP has been editing various starter / career missions over time, basically streamlining them in an attempt to make it easier for new players to become acclimated to Eve.

I think the mission you're referring to had a bunch of Kernite Asteroids in it, definitely some easy ISK for new players.

Those starter missions have also had variations of "flawed gneiss" and other non-ores which looked like the real thing but refine to nothing (I can't remember if "nothing" was actually nothing or just a few units of Tritanium per refine batch).

So the missions get tweaked from time to time, and it wouldn't surprise me if some rocks were removed entirely. Of course there are the usual questions of, "did you have the overview set up correctly", "were the asteroids replaced with barren asteroids", or even, "were these the droids you were looking for?"

High sec Griefers probably mined them out to get a suspect timer hoping you would shoot them.

I know what you mean: Cash Flow for Capsuleers, or at least the first handful of them, once had a relative bounty of asteroids, including a Dense Veldspar rock and Plagioclase.

If they took them out, it's probably because they're tweaking the NPE these days, and someone realized that having the best mining mission in the tutorial take place under combat, and before you've necessarily been gifted a Venture, is kind of silly.

Hell, the asteroids weren't even on the default overview by default until they (finally!) fixed that.
