The next very likely banworthy scam, can we get this shot down now rather than later?

I'm just sad that i'm not in a position to be able to play Dust anyway, my PS3 isn't currently on the required firmware and with any luck never will be, but depending on what happens between now and feb will decide that in the end.

If you read the fine print, you'll notice that CCP stated that all players who receives beta keys have to sign a Confidentiality agreement before the keys are handed over. (which means, even if you FRAPS it and post video content on youtube or post pics on....anything and caught you'll suffer IRL consequences) It will also be cross checked with your PSN acct so that all details matchup (e-mail, name, addy etc etc.)

Translation: You would be liable for what the person you sold your beta key to did with that account and the content he/she had access to under the NDA, and while that might not result in criminal prosecution it could easily lead to a ban.

....I guess you guys completely missed the point of scamming.

You get the isk for offering beta keys.

They get no beta keys.

You probably never had a beta key in the first place.

If you sent me 1 bil ISK
I give you 51 percent shares of Volvo

You actually do not have it, you offer it, you get payed. Is this against EULA ? Its scam afterall.. Big smile

Trading a beta key and trading something that has obvious real world money value are two different things, and that is why the original question was asked as to whether or not it is ok.

However, the people that I was replying to were talking about actually trading a beta key for isk, and the problems it has with the NDA. The topic for discussion is scamming for said beta keys, hence it's a worthless discussion in the first place since it has nothing to do with the original topic.

So... If someone sells their beta key for isk, then it's against the EULA.

But if they're simply scamming and don't actually have a key to sell its ok?

Makes sense Roll

If you really want to know, there is only one thing you can do. And that's petition it. Forums are not really the right place to ask, though asking for the GM to clarify in this thread once they answer might not be a bad idea.

The only thing thats a scam is those asshats and clownshoes in Jita charging a billion. I'll sell you mine for 1 PLEX, and no worries if you break the NDA.
