Is the Absolution a good ship for soloing C3's?

Greetings Voyagers, I'm seeking info about the CS ships for soloing C3's and I wanted to know if anyone know of the full potential of the Absolution? I'd tried Googling about that ship and but all the info I found was back posted info from 2009-2011. I can fly a Legion/Zealot atm with max skills and I feel the Legion is to risky (due to skill loss on death) for soloing C3's for a beginner like me and the Zealot lacks cap/tank to get the job done like the Legion so I'm leaning towards the Absolution. Does anyone have any up to date info on the Absolution? Can it solo C3's? Is it better than the Legion? Aquila's sticky forum doesn't provide info about the Absolution's ability to solo C3's either. If so can someone post me some fits?

Yes it can. Cap recharge, sigtank, repamount and range are lower, so don't expect a similar performance. AB T3s are pretty ideal tbh.

The best way, imo, to approach this would be to go to eve-survival.org and look at the required dps to tank. Start throwing fits together in EFT until you find something that'll at least survive. Plan to have omni tank in the mid 70s to 80s. Cap stable. Put out a reasonable amount of dps 400+ or compare it to your Legion fit. The next best thing is to go out and lose it. Try the sites you want to try. Enjoy the experience.

Are you kidding me? If anything these attributes should be higher for the Absolution over the Legion. So in other words it's not worth the extra 90 days to train for Absolution and I should just stick with my Legion. Sigh, I was just looking for a ship that can solo the c3's with no skill loss on death WHEN you get ganked. What about the Astarte or Sleipnir?

Gila/Rattlesnake. probably even the Myrmidon.. but i haven't actually tried it.. but yes there are plenty of options that don't have skill point loss involved.

Sleipnir does it fairly easily while remaining sufficient dps. I can't run oruzes (it's just not worth it) or any of the relics/datas cause to much neuts+dps. Warp to site to 0, move 10km towards the structure, drop MTU/MD. Missiles and drones clear up frigates, tracking is a bit itchy. Refit a TP/TC against cruiser defenders.

Edit: It's somewhat fine to warp into a quarantine relic at 100k and kill the frigs in the first wave with DU, then kill two preservers and tank the last one while you hack the talocan wreck. Cerb/Gila are a lot better at this one though.

One or more trained alts always comes in handy, in this case preferably combat ready covert scan alt(s) watching the only wormhole sig(s) in the system. If one to many holes to watch maaabe head in with the cheaper Myrm, though the sites will take a bit more time to run (riskier) and you'll have to train T2 sentry drone skills asap. You can make at least 100 mil an hour in your Legion while running C3's solo but it is also very easy to get ganked so find 3 or 4 people to run with who "also" have an alt or two.

Myrm is fine though only tried it in a Wolfe Rayet

Astarte's fun, can solo C3 data/relic sites if managed and with top notch drone skills.

The main advantage of using two toons is that you suddenly got twice the bang for half the buck (exagerated).

Running a single CS/T3 will always force you to run with 700dps at best, while two domis just plow through anoms/relics/datas in c3s like there is no tomorrow. 1.5k dps against anything that spawns is fairly good for ~480mil initial investment and 130mil replacement costs (choosing plat insurance), and running basically cap xfer, 2 large shield RR and two invulns+DCU for tank leaves a couple of slots open for paints, tracking and dps.

This char is my main and she can fly a Legion, Zealot, and Confessor/Svipul at max skills. I have 3 more alts that can fly a Gila, the other a armor/skirmish Legion booster, and another that can fly a Buzzard with max salvaging/scanning skills. Should I try with my Zealot or Confessor first before using my Legion?

You're referring to using 2 RR Domis? Yes I've heard too many good things about using RR domis in a C3 that I've started 2 more accounts to train for them. I can use them with max support/armor/shield tank, RR skills and near max drone skills. I'll have T2 sentries and Gallente BS at lev 4 in 34 more days. Right now they're at 13.5 mill SP, But I believe I can use them in 34 days with those skills until the rest are maxed. Can you send me eve mail info on the do and don't when using 2 RR domis in C3's? I googled and only got limited info on how to actually use the rr domis.

Step 1: Ball up, turn cap transfers on.
Step 2: Rep other Domi as needed while blapping all the things.
Step 3: ????
Step 4: Die to gankers. I mean profit
