Filed a bug report about this last week, but the launcher still won't allow me to change the location of the shared locations.

What's the point of having a box to change that location if I'm not allowed to edit it?

Sure I could make a symlink to hack this into working, but it's pretty obviously a bug and will I have to fix my hack when the bug is fixed?

Really the best thing would be to store the resources in the .app folder so it just follows wherever I put it. As it is now, if I try to play EVE without hacking the command line it will fill up my system drive and make the computer unusable until I delete my EVE library files.

That should've been fixed, can I ask you to check a setting for me? System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General tab: What is "Allow applications downloaded from:" set to?

I am not at home at the moment. I know that my settings are not limited to just Mac App Store and open to everyone. Think that is the middle option.
As someone else said, the right/control click option doesn't work ether for me.
I had the same issue with the last clone maker. I ended up having a friend send me a copy. But as I said in my op, right-clicking and show package blah blah and navigating to the script works.

I recently did a complete delete and restall of my computer, every other file I downloaded never gave me a problem. Everything from Steam to TS to Skype to mumble even the EVE download. Yet, the clone maker still said it was broken right after download.

If I need to make anymore clones, I will just use my work around.

Same. There is no way 15G of application data belongs in my home directory. Settings and screenshots and other user-specific data? Absolutely. But not a huge chunk of the application itself. I'm now backing that 15G up to crashplan which is just crazy. And if I did have multiple users of my Mac then it'd be 15G per user.

Best place for it is inside the Application bundle itself. If for whatever reason that isn't possible, maybe /Users/Shared.

Two anomalies today...

1. While fitting a ship, the 'Offense' portion of the fitting window failed to update. Specifically, it wasn't updating drone DPS when swapping drones. In addition, there was no DPS from laser weapons (despite having several installed). I had to undock and then re-dock to resolve the issue.

2. On undocking, my System, Route And Agent information disappeared. Despite docking and then undocking again, the upper left-hand HUD was blank. Toggling and untoggling the icons had zero effect. The only fix was once again to quit and re-login. First time this has happened, so I'm unsure what triggered it.

Update: I thought this was an isolated issue, but after reconnecting and undocking the same issue happened again. I was running the Caldari Epic Mission Arc and trying to complete 'Practical Solutions'. Incidentally, both anomalies occurred while using a Nestor. And low and behold, as soon as I switched ships the problem went away. One additional note: I was carrying a shuttle in ship maintenance bay of the Nestor at the time.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

You either have a Mac product, or you're still beta testing it. It's very annoying investing in this game under the pre-tense that you are actually supporting the mac platform when you leave it unplayable regularly. The only MMORPG on the Mac that is progressively getting worse over time. Cider is not complex, you're just not troubleshooting the environment with enough people or we would have resolution in times relative to the PC client.

I get a faster computer every year and yet my performance in a 12 year old game gets worse every year.... go figure. Do you have a single Apple only developer at CCP?

^^ This.

Also, confirming that I had to change my applications trust setting to "trust anything that smiles at you," and I'm not really happy to have to give up the protection of application signing with very specific exceptions allowed explicitly by me.

I'm also pinging Apple about this, because it doesn't just affect EVE (the awesome and irreplaceable BBEdit is only available at full power if you download it from the developer, because the sandbox disables some of its nicest features). But it's an issue now.

Bug Hunter
The shared cache location is currently fixed to the user library folder. Personally, I hope that different locations can be chosen in future releases.

At least the bug hunters are on our side. I gotta say I'm not feeling the love for Mac users here, CCP.

Just a head's up to anyone running OS X Yosemite 10.10.3, there appears to be some serious issues with the latest SiSi/Cider build - so my advice is to install an extended training queue just to be on the safe side. By 'extended', I mean a year.
