Eh Christmas is a Christian adaptation of the winter celebrations most previous European cultures celebrated. Kind of like every other "Christian" holiday (Although the date probably has more to do with Judeo-Christian views about the dates of Christ's death and conception).

Now its the biggest consumerist party in the world, based mostly off of 1950s American culture.

My mother comes home every night, often working six days, and tries to relax watching this tiny ridiculous television from the other side of the room on her bed. An old school combo TV-VCR that I believe she got on sale at a CVS. She's gone through two or three of these pieces of junk, and it's been bothering me. So I went and bought her a flat screen TV last week. Going to take it over there in a few hours when she's waking up.

This is an ingenious thing because I would NEVER buy this TV for myself. I would 'settle' just like she has been for herself. But at the same time, I can't actually afford to think like this every day for everyone in my family and my life. I mean small scale, sure, I buy people lunch and people give me small stuff on occasion that they think is helpful, but large scale buys I mean. You just can't do that every day.

So the evil corporate vampires took a day of good will and got together to advertise the **** out of it as an occasion where they all... sell their stuff real cheap...

Now I'm holding a brand new 37" LCD T.V. from a major brand purchased for under 200 bucks, that will make the life of someone I know that much better, and some genius is going to tell me this is a consumer trap engineered by corporate america around a holiday stolen from one religion by another? Like that changes anything?

I'll laugh in his face. Lol

What really baffles me, is if the atheists really just don't believe in a God, and that's it, why don't they ever feel the need to mention it unless the subject is brought up by Christians? If someone gets on here and says Happy Ramadan, or Happy Chanukah, these idiots never seem to come out of the woodwork to tell the guy how fake his God and religion are.

So to all you Christians out there, just remember what Jesus said; "Haters gonna hate". Ignore them and have a merry Christmas.

That sux. I have to work christmas eve night and christmas morning heh. Then sleep then family stuff but dont have to go back to work. Hope they are paying you well atleast!
