Hi guys slowly making my way to flying a nightmare. Been flying a Dominix for a while now and feel like a change.

I just got Caldari Battleship and Amarr Battleship to 4 and because the nightmare will need lasers thinking that will be the way to go.

I dont know a thing about lasers really whole new ballgame so hoping for a little advice.

What battleship would be the best to go for atm looking at all 3 and thinking there just names.

Also what lasers should i fit can get tech 1s in 5-6 days tech 2s in 55 or so days got plenty of isk to throw at it just want something that going to hammer.

First of all, you NEED to train Shield Compensation and get Controlled bursts up.

Apart from that you need to realise that a NM is not an easy-going ship to fly (personally I'm not a fan of it at all) because using tachs means you can't fight your way out of short range trouble very easily. Realise that you only do EM/Thermal so you really want to PVE in Amarr space to have the right damage type.

Looks good. NM use tach, so t2 for scorch not mandatory. Train gun support skills first, t2 only when you have nothing better left. You will be using imp multi and not t2 crystal for tach. Tachs suck up cap. T2 tachs use much more of it, and does around 20 more dps than faction tachs.

Im training for a nightmare to do incursions and heard they are one of the best ships to fleet with. I was going to train a rattlesnake then when i looked at incursions found out i was wasting my time.

You'll want pulse for Incursions, using tachs will be a nightmare... (oh god I made a funny). It's a nice ship for it and then you won't need the Shield compensation skill, you still want controlled burst up tho, and ofcourse other gunnery support.

It's fine. Shield fleets run otas, not ncos. Shoot large rats. Not to mention you can do higher sites than vans with it.

So am i better off going for t1 tachs to begin with or something else.

Goal over the next few months it to max out lasers and other gunnery skills get sheilds advanced weapon upgrades up to near perfect then then reevaluate from there. Wouldnt mind training up missiles and giving Caldari a nudge 2.

T1 large laser for tach, then gun support skills to 4, should take a little more than a week. Then whatever you want. Lastly, when you already have workable weapons to use meanwhile, tackle t2 megapulse that will take over a month.

So what would be the best pick out of the amarr bs's to fly in between now and the when i get the nightmare or should i just start flying the nightmare in a couple of weeks when i get my gunnery skills up a bit.

Beam Geddon or Apoc for cheap low sp filler BS.

All the t2 lasers will take me 50-60 days just to fit and longer to max out. Which doesnt bother me to much. Drones have taken me forever just the same deal.

I was thinking a geddon mainly because i could put 5 garde 2s in there and still pack a punch with those guys.Without using drones on the geddon how does it compare dps wise to the other 2.

Tough choice if i go a geddon cap problems less tank but more dps.

If i train lasers and have them up and running to a semi decent level in 2-3 weeks will they still put out decent dps.

Im thinking although i love my drones i get a pretty big bonus with the Dom so the differance isnt going to be massive but still while getting my skills up worth considering.

Or grrr buy both lol.

You will need navy Geddon for lvl4s if you pack 5 sentries. Regular has no spare dronebay for a flight of light/med drones in addition to 5 sentries. You'll have nothing to take care of frigs. Dps wise, it's 1300+ dps with imp multi, 1100+ with scorch. Tachs don't fit, use t2 megapulse. Most people don't realize that navy geddon is competitive with NM, but only if you have high skills - t2 megapulse + sentries.

Apoc is nothing special. Easy to use with low skills, not much potential.

The Navy Geddons looking good doesnt bother me if it cost 400mil to fit so put in 5 gardes and 5 hammerheads. And ill have to work on weapons upgrades straight away once lasers are working for me to get my cap up.

Navy Geddon cost 200 mil last time I checked. Just keep in mind it needs a lot of sp to be effective.

alot of sp is what i dont have havent got 1 skill point in lasers yet and drones are probably my strongest attribute atm. I might just but it have a play if its not doing it for me straight off the bat i can hold out till i have more sp.

I couldnt help myself bought the navy took it out for a quick spin damn its a sexy looking ship so much nicer then the Domi not to get it to a point where im not afraid to get ganked.
