Gas Reaction Array - Is it running?

Well i;ve set up my first gas reaction array, it says it all properly connected and i have the correct BP and materials, but today when i logged in the silos are still showing the amounts i put in initially and the output silo is saying it's empty. All the silos and arrays say they are online.

1- Is this normal? Will the amounts only change when i run out of materials?
2- If not, how can i fix it?
3- Is there an easy way to tell if the reaction is running properly?

I'm new to POSes and this is the first time i've attempted a gas reaction so any help with understanding the process would be great, i used a tutroial to set it up and thought i's followed it properly....

The first hour it says: "Starting Up". Then it should be "Active" or something like it. The materials swap every hour. IN fact you can even offline a component and take out/fill up the material. Unless it happens in the very moment a cycle is completed, the reaction will continue.

More accurately, "Starting-up" means it is waiting for the next hourly tower tick.

To figure out when the tower tick is, look at the calendar to see when (minutes past the hour) it runs out of fuel.

Good luck.

A small piece of advice: after literally every modification to your reaction line, hit apply. LITERALLY EVERY CHANGE.

If you even have to think about whether or not to hit apply, do it. Then close the window, reopen it, and check it again. The interface has been known to flat out lie about its state. It will also completely revert everything you've done if you try to do something it can't do, like online more than the CPU limit of the POS. It will do this with no feedback at all.

Very bad old code. If you septuple check everything you will reduce the possibility of an event like you experienced, or an extremely expensive error. I once lost a couple billion in booster materials because of the terrible lying reaction interface.
