Did you transfer the shared cache folder as well and point the launcher to where it is located?

You most likely need to rerun the registry entry for the installation, so your operating system knows there is such installation in existence.

All posts and mails screencapped and time stamped, including out of EVE, you will not reverse on me.

Might come in handy!

If you still have the original build installed you copied from, and your laptop has an identical unaltered build, look for regedit.exe. Navigate to the to the correct registry paths and export them to a USB stick or a Cloud or something, whatever floats your boat.

On the laptop, get the regedit running again, again navigate to the location your game is currently resigin in, and import the key. If there has been any alterations to the two builds, your OS will most likely just recognize the laptop's build as an outdated on, and the game client will run the necessary updates unto it.

Alternatively, this is also where the (atleast to me) rather trivial Download On Demand comes handy, as you can quickly inject the correct build with sufficent speeds. If you do not have the original build left and you can't copy key for export, you're in for a tedious, tedious ride if you wish to avoid a complete reinstallation.

If so, you need to manually build the entire key for your build, and at this point I will leave you with the manufacturer's instruction, as I'm fairly sure my explanation would only hamper things.

Well check and make sure it has the Eveshared cache folder in it. If not find it and copy it to your laptop.

Also open up your launcher settings and make sure the launcher is looking in the correct place for the Eveshared cache folder. Here is an example for what you are looking for in the launcher settings but of course it will be in a different location than mine. Probably wherever you put the CCP folder on the laptop.

I highly doubt its a registry issue.

I would put it in the CCP folder and then make sure you point the launcher to it like I said previously.

Yeah, preferably in the CCP folder though so you can find it easily.

Sorry, but if you can't follow the instructions the guy above you wrote out, you shouldn't be messing with your registry either way. you can screw up your entire laptop. I'm not trying to offend you with it, just save you some headache since i take it that you dont want to totally reimage your laptop.

If you have a connection though (which i assume since you want to play eve :p), just redownload and reinstall when you're at the location where the connection is stable, and have some patience.

By default the shared is in:

C:\Program Data\CCP\

Whereas the game is in:

C:\Program Files(x86)\CCP\EVE

yeah just looking at that now, it seems the program data folder is a hidden file as well.
