Is it me who's hallucinating or this thing show asteroids way out of its range ? It's supposed to have a 22 km range but show me asteroids at 34 km or so.

Edit : apparently the scanner can't see asteroids out of the mentionned range, but once it see a asteroid, it keeps track of it even if the asteroids get out of scan range, bug or intended ?

The range bonusses that Hulks and Covetors have, as well as the range bonus provided by the Mining Laser Field Enhancement link module, also affect survey scanner range.

Also, as you mentioned, as long as you stay on-grid (not entirely sure on the conditions here), re-scanning will update the distance to previously-scanned asteroids (but not update their content if out of range).

The survey scanner has functioned that way as long as I can remember (2009).

It is handy for scanning a belt, then going back and prioritizing asteroids.

Thanks, I knew about the bonus from links, but not that was combined with laser range.

Still the fact that a previously scanned ore stay on scan seems strange, but not a problem as long as the range is correct.
