I do not understand what the problem is. I have only ever remapped any alt's when I have major shifts in training goals. On my main that has happened 3 or 4 times on all my other alts combined I have used 1 remap total. If I am a typical long term player I can see how CCP are helping make it easier for a player to invest enough time in their main to be stuck with this drug for ever.

Apparently some people feel that not being able to train at max speed all the time on whatever they want is mean and demands CCP change it.

I find Remaps and the Attribute system are for the most part fine. Personally I'd like to see a way to get additional remaps, be it through the NEX Store, or something. Beyond that it works fine. It's risk-reward. Wanna train X group of skills fast? Well then you will be stuck training Y slow, hope you don't need em.
Same holds true for implants. Wanna train something fast? Sure, but you can undock and die and lost hundreds of millions of isk in a flash.

As for this change, there's no reason for it to be BREAKING NEWS. It's a minor change, it's happened before, and since it deals with new Peeps and not vets, they don't need to RUSH to make a devblog about it because it doesn't actually affect us.

I like the change, opens up more options early on. That said most of my toons still have their bonus remaps from the beginning, including this one. But I also know how to schedule my training and don't mind being locked into one remap for a year..

Should've just removed attributes entirely. They add literally nothing to the game except for an unneeded level of complexity to make the game seem hard.

They give you a choice.

You can either learn skills faster and be limited to only a certain area of skills, or learn bit slower and learn any skill.

Just like the choice of training learning skills and gaining SP at a faster rate, or not training these skills and gaining it slower, right? Roll

Exactly. Was it too complex for you?

Personally i have chosen for myself to get learning skills to 4/4 and never bothered after that. And i don't cry and whine to CCP. That was MY CHOICE and MY STRATEGY. It's like kiting fit vs brawling, or rails vs blasters. Planning and strategy.

But somehow it appeared 'too complex' for 'above average aged amateur players' of Eve Roll

So I guess you would be ok with it, if attributes would be dropped and you could train with same speed as you currently can with a flat point distribution

That was the point of my post... yes.

So you should be happy now to train with flat point distribution and let those who want to specialize their training, do so.

Just happened. All new toons start with FOUR (4) Bonus remaps IN ADDition to the 1 timed one.
So go make a new toon, see you have FIVE (5) remaps avaliable.

Um we kinda have to when major changes are implemented and NOONE from CCP bothers to tell us about it, let alone why

Adding one more remap is a /major/ change? Really now? Are you sure you don't mean minor? Because if you had enough initiative to properly plan out use of three remaps, adding an additional one for other people shouldn't inconvenience you much at all.

I made my main about 4 month ago. I had a bad rework because I didn't know better and when I learned that I ****** up CCP told me I was too late to petition a reimbursement. Now I'm stuck with 1 bonus rework, while characters that are newly created have 4. What makes those new players different from me? How do they deserve more of something gamechanging as the reworks? 2 extra rework are super helpful, the more the newer your are and don't even try to argue against that. So yeah, I am pretty pissed. It effects the skill progression of my main greatly and gives lots of players way more freedom. Changed my view on CCP a good deal.

restore the bonus remaps to what they were, reduce the absurdly long timed remap timer to 3-6 months, problem solved

beyond me why it's still a year, that's just flat out ridiculous

So, choice: restart now and get the extra remaps, or keep your 6 million SP's.

If you have cash (or PLEX), you can buy one of the Genolution boosters that gives you double training time for a week or two, for the new character with the extra remaps. Maybe also be able to sell your current character for a billion or two.

There is no pleasing some people.

CCP does not have to tell everything they do to a player. Suck it up and drive on, if you can not do that, then the only thing I can suggest is find another game to play or buy 51% of the parent company and make the changes that you want.

I don't know the data behind and how often a newbie use the remap feature but I'm fine with this change.

Hopefully CCP is not gonna listen the spoiled majority of players who want the game striped down of all its core features just because they think it's too complex.
If you don't want to be stuck with a remap then don't do it, chose a balanced remap, you gonna lose maybe a week of training on a year training plan which is nothing if you ask me.

I think that's actually a brilliant idea and with that price of a say dual training it shouldn't be too hard on your wallet while still feeling like an investment.

No.

First of all doesn't everyone care.... so you're wrong.
Second does it imply that CCP is just a big bad company out there to hurt feelings.

Gee ... wrong again, I guess.

Then there's the fact that you are just envious.

Anyhow ... I apologise if I sound rude.

Because tossing your first character aside is something you'd just do in a heartbeat... I don't get how you people don't see the issue here. There is literally no reason at all for CCP to not give two bonus remaps to all characters. It is obviously nothing you'd give up your character for, but it sucks and people are legitimately upset. Just because you don't mind it, doesn't mean everyone doesn't mind it. It's a fact, if you're relatively new, say under a year, CCP just ****** you over. And it's definitely a reason to complain.

How so, I am under a year old here. I got what I paid for. I have no problem with it. Just because something gets changed after I got here does not create a issue. I still got what I paid for. The only issue I see is some people are scared that someone new might get something they did not.

I am just waiting on the argument about what a pile of poop smells like. Is someone going to get one sniff more than someone else? Come on people you got what you paid for, you were happy with what you paid for. Now you find out something may or may not change and want to cry and act like you got cheated. It all comes down to, YOU GOT WHAT YOU PAID FOR.
