Name changes, totally against them in eve.... but what about getting the risk reward vibe going....

charge 1 Plex for each 1»10million SP a character has, so a noob gets it cheap and a vet with more to cover up gets to pay big time....

or by age, 1»2 plex per year.....

In Character bazaar it should never be allowed, the price you pay is for the total package, with a new car or character you get to choose the options, second hand you don´t.

....because honestly if you were stupid enough to label your character something you can't live with you deserve to have it, your lack of thought and foresight being visible to all is a good thing.

already dead, just haven´t fallen over yet....

Because I biomassed the character. Not for a name change, it was just a temporary character.

No...just no. You create your name and you live with it, this is Eve.

I do pvp in lowsec, solo and small gang. After some time you get to know people, who's a blobber, who's good solo, who's not good at all. You allow people to change their names and it's all gone.

I think I have it figured out.

Such a change would makes little sense except in the context where it prepares the ground for restricting players to a single account per person.

I am pretty neutral on the matter, it is an interesting subject to discuss but I am wondering if f CCP have possibly considered implementing something akin to having aliases?

Giving players that kind of option would be a compromise for both sides of the coin.

I can say I would change my name on my main if given the ability only because it is a boring name I didn't know I would be stuck with when a first signed up. I would actually prefer that all the information and statistics be transferred along with it.

What about if this is used in conjunction with the PLEX4-Resculpting??

So you are named like Ned Stark, do bad things. Pay ccp 1 Plex to resculpt your toon after changing your name?? How will anyone be able to keep track of who did it? Then the new Ned Stark sells toon for 2 plexes, new owner then does more bad corp things and pays another plex to rescuplt then again pays more plex for new name change?? Then some random guy makes new Ned Stark toon and process starts again??

How in the world peeps gonna keep track of what Ned is who and from when and did what bad things?

Sidenote i see a lot of rl isk going to ccp with all these plex transactions.... hmmm

4 real tho, how we gonna keep track when rescuplt is used in conjunction with name change/and or/toon sale??

Maybe by mousing over the character and reading the giant 'Formerly Known As' pop-up?

What if said reputation is causing other players to bully the person with a bad reputation? What if the bad reputation does not even come from bad things done in-game, but simply because other players don't like that person? And if the bad reputation does indeed come from "bad" things the player did (such as awoxing, spying, etc..) why should said player be indefinitely tagged with a bad reputation and potentially hated / bullied and have doors permanently shut to him for basically playing the game in a way the devs themselves advocate?

Not to mention that it is extremely frustrating to pay your subscription every month and not being able to access a service as simple as changing your name when you simply don't like it.

Also, I don't see what it changes to be honest. A spy is going to make an alt and spy again, an awoxer will do the same. People who commit large corp theft will sell their toon, and even if they can't sell it, they have the means to buy one. on the other hand, if you benefit from having a good reputation then just don't change your name, and you'll keep said reputation.

The only thing this rule achieves is to force players into selling their beloved main character on the bazaar and buy someone else's toon, which sucks. Plus CCP is bleeding revenues from it.
