We moved servers today - the DNS record might take around 24h to propagate.

Well done so far, lots of neat features. I wanted to drop two suggestions.
1 - Add "Metropolis" region (Hek) to the regions shown when mousing over the market price timeline
2 - Allow us to specify which stations we want to appear in the price lists. An example would be only setting it to show the 5 main market hubs in highsec. When you search or click on an item/ship it would only show orders in those stations.

Thanks for reading o7

This is zweizeichen, maintainer of Element 43, an open source EVE market website. In addition to the typical market browser, we have trade route finders, market indices, and a thorough set of APIs to expose our data to other developers. Our set of services has been gradually expanding over time, largely driven by user feedback.

We were recently made aware that two players (Golden Gecko and Tony Strak) have forked the codebase, which is permitted by our license (BSD) and not a problem in itself. They have translated all of the UI to french, and have been specifically finding and getting in touch with other French players. The value proposition is "tools to make ISK fast", in return for 10% of all profits. The service is named EVE Sharks.

They have done nothing wrong, and our BSD licensed codebase specifically allows this sort of thing. In fact, we welcome healthy competition. However, I wanted to make sure that our French players knew how unnecessary it is to forfeit an absurd 10% of profits for an open source, freely available service.

If you know anyone in their French-speaking demographic, please point them at this post so they won't be had.

Also, we encourage any and all code contributions! Head on over to our Github repo if you'd like to learn more. Translations are certainly something we need to tackle. Big smile

Nice work on the website guys.

Is there any way you guys can show price indices for modules prior to their being merged during teiricide so we could go back and see what the price was on a module when it had the original data and before the data was merged from two or more modules?(I'm assuming the index data is merged)

Would this be difficult?

Hey, it's been a while!

First, the bad news:
We had to move Element43 to a significantly slower machine, as Alex could not sponsor hosting anymore due to personal reasons - thank you very much for your continued support over the years!

And now the good news:
I successfully migrated the backend code to the latest version of Django (our web application framework), which means Element43 ist standing on a more solid foundation than ever before, ready for lots of cool new stuff to be added! You should also find the news items in your timeline more on-topic now. The EVE API update mechanism has been optimized and live-order storage has been adjusted, resulting in better overall performance. I also updated our database to the latest EVE release: Vanguard!

Hey,
today we finally added IPv6 and HTTP2 support to Element43, preparing the application for modern networks. If you don't know what all of this means, don't worry and enjoy the warm and fuzzy feeling of using modern technology ;)

Have fun!
