Rorqual's future?

With the Rorqual soon to be worthless as it stands once the new structures do everything it does better and cheaper. Whats the plan for the Rorqual?

Personally and yes selfishly I would like to see them allowed into highsec.

With the new bases, compressing refining will be so easy and a lot cheaper then a rorqual. They will also if they stay as billed right now. Give Reps, Clones, and somewere to dock your ship.

This makes the Rorqual basically a worse option and more expensive. However.

CCP said they are looking into belts and how we harvest stuff, add to that the bonuses you get from moving around seeking out empty space.

Wouldn't the Rorqual be the perfect ship for those of us that would love to become Roaming miners. People that seek out empty space for more profits.

Right now if you try and move around every day you would spend the first 3 hours taking down a pos moving putting up the pos before you could even start mining.

Sure you could refine in a station but that would negate the point of moving around in the first place.

So how about we remove the rep bonus and the clone bay. Give it a bigger Ore bay and open it up to high sec so we can actually begin to roam around day to day seeking out the best stuff to mine on that day.

Selfish idea over, you can say no cap in highsec now.

If rorq is to move to highsec it needs a huge ehp nerf, by that I mean to bowhead levels.
That sentry dps too, DROOOOOOOOOOOL Cool

Sigh, the dreams eve induces until reality kicks in when you actually play the game

Before i played the game i used to watch videos and read about the ships an one of the "dreams" i had for one of my characters when i decided the game was for me was to create a miner and train up to be able to fly the Rorqual, then well i subbed up played the game an got to know what the ship actually was, needless to say depression set in lol

Anyhow, yeah the dream was basically to use the Rorqual as a mobile home, live in it, mine in it etc etc, see the universe :D yeah the dream of the naive tbh (much like the dream of my other character who i made for flying carriers)

I'd totally love it if they turned this beast into a capital size mining boat, the end game for miners so to speak, but thats my naievty speaking again tbh

The ship needs to become a ls or null mining platform. I don;t think these need to go into hs.

the ship should gain a hard point that can fit capital strip, ice, gas and deep core miners. They should mine more then there non cap counterparts.

The compression ability should be removed, and either changed into a reactor (if we can mine moon good) or a way to give a huge mining bonus but the ship remains in one spot. like increase the range by x4.

It should be used as the main platform for mining groups.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

The Rorqual has been useless for a long time now. Fortunately, CCP have announced their intentions to rebalance capital ships. The Rorqual is a Capital Industrial Ship so I assume it will be included in this. If not... RIP Rorqual.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.
