There was talk not too long ago about removing browser functionality altogether. CCP didn't show any appetite for updating the browser and talked about promoting CREST and third party tools as more of a priorty re: browser.

If they can make out of game browsers work like in game browsers (can drag them around the client and they always stay on top, hell could even be made opaque so you can see what's going on underneath them ) that would be great, It is kind of crazy that the game has it's own crappy browser when we could use the browsers of our choice.

OMG. Browser coding probably rivals the game coding. The more bells and whistles...then the threat of vulnerabilities...

The IGB efficiently loads the pages most important to me as a player. This forum. EVE Gate. Mission Reports. EVE uni. Enough Wikis to choke a large horse. The rest is entertainment value I don't really think is necessary for the IGB.

The IGB isn't intended to be a mirror of your regular browser. It's not broken if it doesn't do the same as IE11, Firefox 36.0.4, or those other, lesser browsers people use thinking they're cool cause it's not IE.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

IGB is totaly fine for normal internetz.

It just doesn't handle this fancy new '100kb of jQuery UI just so you could animate the ******* background color of a div' and '80 kilobytes to your ******* site, and some ************ jabbing at it on their iPad with fat sausage fingers will never see that ****'.

There has been some talk about the IGB and some concerns raised at the 2015 fanfest, but the latest 'official' word on it on this forum can be found here.

I tend to use Overwolf, but mine is dedicated for wowhead / Blizzard games.

Try this out:

But you can also get this Overwolf .It has some nice extra features P

EVEBoard ...Just over 60million skill points, each skill was chosen for a reason. I closed my eyes & clicked another skill to train... "BINGO...!!!" ... "This time i got something usefull"

Aside from flash and webms I don't see the problem

Oh that and imgur albums don't work, so I guess there's that.

If they could update it to a newer release of Chromium to support webm that'd be cool, but I aint holding my breath nor do I care THAT much.

Last thing we need is more browser than we have now. The next thing you know clicking a random link results in all your assets gone when you log in the next day. It would be a security vulnerability.

As for whoever said gif's don't work. I know that fleet windows during structure bashes get filled with random gif goodies. Just alt tab out if you need to use a real browser, or run it in windowed mode if you manage to have two extra screens to fit all your overview on and a third for the browser.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

Promoting CREST, an API that websites can use to get EVE data, that can be shown in a browser, that gets removed from the game. It's bizarre.

The basic gist of the browser problem (from what I heard at Fanfest) is that keeping a browser up to date and secure requires some serious man hours and resources which could be spent on improving the actual game.

At the same time simply pointing links to the system browser has its own set of problems, especially since full screen is still a thing for many people and alt + tab doesn't always play nice with full screen applications. Also not very user friendly.

Then again, the in-game button for the support page prompts a warning that it is going to open your system browser, so apparently the functionality for it is already built in. All we now realistically need is a checkbox to disable that warning and IMO we should be good to remove the IGB.

i wish there would be a way to disable the IGB. Links would open in the default system browser. Other programs do that too.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value
