I honestly didn't realize they only used freighters. I never paid much attention. I assumed they used blockade runners/something cheaper for short/easy contracts.

I am probably not the person to listen to. I have never as much as flown a jump freighter. Anything I actually move on my own is in a blockade runner or tengu


Red Frog is a (jump) freighter only system.

Hell, if you get caught using anything other then a freighter, it's instant kick from corp.


Got it. I have used them a ton of times, never thought about how they operate, though. Only know I can trust them.

Dedicated freighter organizations never operate as a corporation with corp members. It would be too easy for a hisec pirate group to wardec them and seriously hurt their shipping business.

For instance, Red Frog itself, only consists of administrative characters that hardly ever even undock. All of its actual shipping pilots are in NPC corps or small individual corps so that wardecs cannot target shipping operations.

But you don't have to be a part of a corp at all to run NPC courier missions. All you need is enough standing with the faction and you can run those all you like.

Even nullsec groups never allow their hauling characters to be in the actual corp or alliance.
