Unable to make Tech II mining crystals

I am attempting to make Tech II mining crystals, and I have everything I need in my item hanger :
* R.A.M. - Electronics
* A Tech I variation of the mining crystal I want to make into a Tech II
* Hypersynaptic Fibers

However when I go to the Industry screen to start the job, it says I am missing the mining crystal. I have triple checkd the crystal and it is the correct one I need to have, and it is in my mining hanger next to the R.A.M and hypersynaptic Fibers, but in the industry window it says it is missing.

Help.

Is crystal packaged and undamaged one?

Is the mining crystal an unpackaged/used one or a packaged/unused one?

Do you actually have the BPC for it?
You can still enter the industry window for T2 items even without owning the BPC.

If that's OK, check your input container, near the top right.

The Tech I crystals have never been used and are not damaged. I don't have an option to repackage them, which is what my first thought was. So I am at a lost.

Colour me confused.

If building at an NPC station: make sure all the items are in your item hangar.

If building at a POS: make sure all the items are in the assembly array at the POS.

Also beware that sometimes the 5 minute item refresh causes items not to be found. Logout / login or session change (undock / dock) usually fixes that.

Or try fresh crystals. Not being able to repackage them strikes me as unusual.

Fresh crystals are likely the answer, it sounds like they've been loaded into strip miners but never actually used.
