Gonna buy some fishing gear as gift and since i didn't fish since i was a kid i am in need of advice.

would like to buy set of 3-4 rods w or without mechanical part if you know good brand do speak up.

i am looking for gear that gonna be used in fresh water(slow moving river) or lake from coast or possibly boat.

The types i remember are those and one with huge black mustaches ugly fish thing

Anyway gonna hit bass-pro shop tomorrow if you are in da know or have good gear your self plz post it here.

For carp

Carp fishing is a more expensive and complex endeavor than bass or jackfish/pike spinning.

The last requires only light rods some spinning baits and an eventual rented boat. For carp you need an entire arsenal of equipment to be carried along, 12ft rods, supports etc.

Got 4 Shakespeare rods and holders for them bait and accessories box and water proof outer top.

however that was before Gimme Sake linked those kick ass 12 ft_ers so i got on phone and check can i upgrade my purchase and will go back tomorrow for 2 12ft rods for some heavy duty action.

So it will be 2 7ft medium action and 2 12 ft heavy and il proly pick some additional small stuff such as light knife or hook removal kit.....
