As a self-described EVE trader, this article cut me to the core, even though it was meant as a joke. It was just all too real for me...

Any other traders here have a similar experience? :)

I happened to have a BP for a Fleet Issue Stabber, one run, and enough ore to make it. So, I knocked one out just for grins and put it up on the market at Rens. I put it up for 50k ISK less than the lowest price. Less than five minutes later half a dozen sell orders all reset their orders to .01 ISK less than mine. SO...suspecting something, I changed my price to a nice round figure, the next 100,000 place down with zeros on the end. Poof. Minutes later the same half dozen are .01 ISK under mine.

(I'm cloaked in a nearby system doing this.) SO, just to be sure I drop the price the next 100,000 place down with zeros on the end, and within two minutes all six had done it again. Now things are starting to look a bit mechanical here. So I decide to do a radical drop. I peeled 5million K off the price...all zeros. This time only one dropped it .01. The others just stayed where they were.

I then googled "market bot" and found a product that promised it could do this "change" eternally.

Do you market? I was going to, initially. Got all my marketing skills to V. I'm not now. Can you guess WHY?

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

Not every .01-isker is a bot. Just sayin'. Don't ask me how I know this.

Only time I could have gotten plexes for buddy invites was when I rolled an alt.

I forgot to send myself an invite!

I go to jita mabey twice a month to sell all the higher end items i collect over time. I spend alot of time on the market as well.....not excessively like that but a good amount.

Destiny always seems decades away, but suddenly it's not decades away; it's right now. But maybe destiny is always right now, right here, right this very instant, maybe.

Uhm , i've traded quite a bit in my eve time and at one point was close to that 1T mark but when i read his comments i don't recognise anything in there.Let's take some of the gems :

''A capsuleer of New Eden since 2006, Reinhardt boasts that he has only missed logging in on nine separate occasions'' - ow my

''Friends. Friends would be great. Almost nine years in EVE and I have yet to join a player corporation'' - now this part really leaves me speechless.

And then to lure friends into playing eve online he does this:

''Reinhardt redoubled his efforts a few months later, this time accompanying his screenshots with an attached spreadsheet showing how much profit he was making manufacturing capital components on his alt. He even added a screenshot of his T2 blueprint hangar in hopes of demonstrating the depth of the game's crafting system.'' - i can think of a lot more interesting things to lure people in then spreadsheets online

''Not even a picture of the robust market interface seemed to work. '''- uhm yeah no **** Shocked

And finally he ends with :''Maybe I will send them some gameplay video of my new hisec mining alt and see if that changes their minds''

I can only think that this must be a troll , otherwise this guy missed out on SO much what eve has to offer.Ah well , one day he might undock and discover.

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

You can mess with those bots. Doing so is fun.

Screw them into selling to you at bad prices, then report them to CCP after you take them to the cleaners.

Of course, many 0.01ings are done by humans.
