What is Stimulus? What is Rote Kapelle?

Stimulus [STIM] is a corporation founded in 2007 with the intent of finding good fights and winning them by having better pilots, ships, discipline, and teamwork than the people we come across. We believe strongly in making each person in a fleet count as much as possible, rather than simply finding more people to join our fleets. We pride ourselves on trying to fight smart in combat and avoid pointless losses, while not shying away from good fights that present themselves to us. We have maintained that goal to this day, and in 2008 created our alliance, Rote Kapelle, as an umbrella for like-minded corps to join us in our quest to get good fights.

STIM is focused purely on PvP, and is organized around regularly scheduled fleets that go out looking for people to shoot. However, outside of a fight, we're a relaxed and laid-back group of people, and understand that real life committments such as work, family, and friends come before internet spaceships. As such, we don't have mandatory ops people must attend, but we do require members to be self-sufficient. PVE activies on a character within the organization are fine, as long as they avoid showing up on the killboard, or reflect poorly upon us as a whole (like the decision to go mining).

Aside from its activities roaming space for fights, Rote Kapelle is well-known in the Alliance Tournament scene as fielding consistently good teams each year. We've even been privileged to send several alliance members to Iceland to do commentary for CCP, including our glorious leader Bacchanalian (long life to you, thane!).

Why are you recruiting?

Put simply, we need fresh blood, younger players that can bring excitement and motivation to the corporation, as well as contributing to it in other ways over time. As our current member base has increased in age and RL responsibilities over the years, we haven't actively recruited enough to fill the gap that was left. We want more people to fly with us, to become part of our small and tight-knit family, and eventually lead us into the second decade and beyond.

What kind of person are we you looking for?

1) Newer players that are still learning the game, have an interest in combat, and have enough SP to fly simple ships like T1 cruisers competently. As a rule of thumb, I'd like 5m to 10m SP characters, but I'm flexible on these numbers. When in doubt, contact me and let's talk.

2) People that play primarily from 0000-0400 GMT (or 2300-0300 in the summer) several times a week. These tend to be the main hours I play, due to being on the US East Coast, and any training or roams that I coordinate would fall in these timezones by default. You can be from anywhere in the world as long as you can make these hours and meet the other criteria.

3) Good students, ideally the kind that are naturally curious about the game, do their own independent research on simple issues they face, but are willing to ask for help for more complex or difficult questions. I want to be helping people understand how to fit ships properly, or use D-scan to visualize where they're at in system, not telling people how to turn off auto-locking targets or what a jump clone is.

4) People with the right attitude, namely players that are enthusiastic, smart, willing to take some risks, and fun to be around.

5) Be willing and able to use Teamspeak 3, speak and write good English, and be a generally cool person. While I'm always interested in flying alongside people from outside the US, I need to be able to communicate with you clearly while on a roam.

What can you offer me in return?

1) Training in the art of small-gang PvP in EVE. One benefit of Rote's age is that we have a large number of veteran pilots within our ranks, some of them (including myself) with almost a decade of combat experience under their belts. We are experts in everything you need to know in order to be successful at PvP, from relatively simple tasks such as how to design fits for ships and scan down targets, to more complex tasks like leading fleets and tactics used to find (and win) fights.

2) Regularly scheduled roams to lowsec, nullsec, and W-space destinations, including Thera. In addition, the opportunity for younger recruits to try their hand FCing a gang of their own, if they're so inclined.

3) Being treated like an individual, instead of some tiny cog in the machine of a huge nullsec coalition. There are no POS to refuel and maintain, no fleets to attend or risk dismissal from the alliance - instead, we have a relaxed atmosphere where you're treated as a colleague instead of some subordinate.

4) The potential to fly with us in the Alliance Tournament as a part of the Rote Kapelle team. We traditionally select individuals to fly with us in matches based on their ability to fly a specific ship well and how often they've practiced with us. In the past, we have had relatively young 10m - 15m SP characters out flying in a match if they prove they're competent in the ship.

If you're interested in learning more about us, feel free to PM me in-game, and we'll arrange a time to sit down and talk. Also, while this ad is geared primarily towards newer players, if you're a veteran and are interested in what we have to offer, I'd be happy to have a conversation with you as well.

Regardless, thanks for your time. See you in space!

Had a fun little roam a few days back that took us to Thera, and onwards to Scalding Pass and Black Rise / Placid. Thanks to Phoebe Freeport Republic for being hospitable and giving us a nice series of fights when we showed up in their system. My Vexor even survived the night!
