Nomad vs. Ascendency implant sets for Travel

Hei,

I'm deciding whether to get either of these for travel - mainly hauling in transport and freighter type ships.

In a long journey, involving maybe 30 jumps at a time, which would bring me to the destination faster: Warp speed vs. Agility?

Thanks Smile

I've done some research:

1) Fenrir's align time/warp preparation is 71 seconds, Mid-Grade Nomad set puts it at 51.9 seconds = 19.1 seconds difference.

2) Fenrir's warp speed is 1.37 AU/s, HG Ascendency with MG Ascendency Omega increases it to 2 AU/s.

19.1 extra seconds x 1.37 default warp speed = 26.16 AU.

For a freighter with an Ascendency set those 26.16 AU extra are travelled in 41.52 seconds - I'm taking the bonus 0.63 AU/s warp speed.

So to break even with the Nomad align set bonus, the warp distance would have to be at least 2 AU/s x 41.52 = 83.04 AU.

Correct me if I'm wrong, as it's late here and I'm falling asleep. Smile

TL;DR Nomad set for Freigther hauling; Ascendency for everything else.

Update:

Derp. A Fenrir without skills has the 71s align time Smile Skilled it's 36 seconds, down to 26.3 sec using MG Nomad set = 9.7 difference.

So 9.7 s extra x 1.37 AU/s base warp speed = 13.289 AU travelled.

13.289 AU / 0.63 AU/s Ascendency's bonus speed = 21 seconds.

21 seconds x 2 AU/s Ascdency warp speed = 42 AU distance.

THE ANSWER is 42.

Forty two AU - the distance you have to travel to match the Ascendency set to a Nomad's align bonus when travelling in a Fenrir. Big smile

TL;DR still applies.

The answer is always 42. But in all seriousness I believe you're right, or I was just as wrong as you are now.

All I know is that it took forever to unload a full Nomad set, I figure they'd sell like hot cakes due to the number of freighters floating about.

Just say NO to Dailies

Don't think I'd opt for a MG Nomad set now after trying the Ascendency.

Cruising in my T1 hauler --- Enter warp and... Fofofofofofofofofofo. ☺

Unlike Nomads, many ships benefit from increased warp speed - I'm going to love the new Luxury Yacht at 9 AU/s. Cool
