I would like to point a key line from this notice: http://community.eveonline.com/news/news-channels/eve-online-news/important-information-download-on-demand/

"It is extremely important that you do not use the repair tool for the initial update tomorrow, as this may cause issues. The repair tool can of course be used after the initial update."

Please watch yourselves out there in Linux land. I don't know what the recovery process will be if you do the repair tool before it finishes, but keep each other aware of this.

Interdasting.
Repair was more or less working on test server when the new launcher was deployed.
Well, there was a version mismatch, but you could use the repairer to get an older launcher version and try updating again.

The issue with the repair tool is that it does not migrate the assets to the shared resource cache. If you run the repair tool before running the launcher it will remove the stuff files containing all the assets, forcing you download them as the client needs them.

If you are not concerned about the bandwidth then the client will work just fine after patching with the repair tool.

Honestly, I don't need to run the repair tool since a very long time now. The launcher seems stable enough to delegate to it all the dirty work.

There are cases where the repair tool is still needed in penguinland?
