My first post;

I surfed the forums and couldn't find a thread for this. If there is one please direct me there.

I participated in my first big fleet roam with Gal Mil a few days ago and found it anti-climactic. Yes we had a few engagements but I was hoping for more. When we have a large group roam like the one I experienced the other night. I had hoped for a chance to siege the enemy.

The infrastructure hubs offer such an engagement BUT they take a grind to make vulnerable and no one seemed interested. I mentioned that we should blow up a POS in enemy space, or belonging to enemy FW corps and again, no one wanted to. They then explained to me that destroying an enemy POS wasn’t worth anything more than its kill mail.

Why isn’t establishing a POS or destroying one on the war front a goal?

Go shoot the TCU/ihub in nearby CFC space if you want a "siege".

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

And that is where you went wrong.

You have joined a Role Play militia.

Calmil is way more fun with the right group.

You cant make people fight in eve. You can only incentivise them. Unfortunately, right now you could attack a cal mil POS if you want, but cal mil lacks the ability to realistically defend it. So all you would end up with is a dead POS.

Gal mils larger fights are usually against other entities in the area. In between those fights, small gang vs cal mil is still viable.

Ignoring cal mil for a second, scraps do happen, examples from this week;

SNUFD employ a classic BS counter that falls short due to utility in our BS fleet

SNUFD hubris makes them force a fight massively outnumbered while our guys were looking for a much bigger target.

Im sure cal mil could post numerous examples of camping a gate and running from fights so as ibanez said, both sides get their fair share of content.

GalMil needs to get their propaganda in order. Are we back on the "we welp snuff" chest betting bit? I didn't know you were done with the "why is snuff picking in us little guys" line.

Side note, I am happy to see Snuff losing assets.

There is ways to make people to fight in eve but you can also fly in big fleets and make them not so interested about fights.

You must not look at our killboard often, we welp more times then we win me thinks. We're whelping more per month then some corps kill total. We get stuck in the awkward position of "what will we bring that they'll fight us?", "how bored are we and how desperate for a fight are we?", and "yes, we see they have more ewar then we have guards but if we bring something else we get no pew". It's a hardknock life I tell you.

Heres my perspective on things you guys have run round the warzone 3rd partying and stomping on both militia. You go on bout how much isk and stuff u make from money moons were the little guy cant compete then bleat u get no fights out of us. We bring normal fleets u guys upto crazy expensive stuff and stomp us, If we counter this with ewar you cry. We wont bring caps because you guys out escalate us with supers and wave ur dicks around. ( do you get the pattern?)

Theres groups in the area who could put up fights against you guys but you wont go for them Eg, OE they can out escalate your supers and caps so you wont go for them same with shadow cartel and cyno field

You guys are a big fish in a small pond and when uv pissed in that pond too often you cant expect people to want to swim in it, the hardknock life is only the one you guys have chosen

What was that all about? I was talking about our whelping.

PS - I really liked the Tempest. Was trying to get GalMil into those for a long time.

This part I will address though, don't believe the bleating you hear from your militia mates, now that you're on FHC read the posts on who isn't showing up for POS fights because they don't fight on POS's (even though we let Wowbagger into the forums with a fake API so he could see everything we were posting about it.)

Anyhow, let's get this thread back on topic.

Theres 2 different snufds. One is inside bridge range of their caps and one is outside.

DnD did the same. If any fight escalated to caps, rather than starting the slightly more interesting job of disabling them with a well set up sub cap comp it was just 'LIGHT THE CYNO, DREADS JUMP' and almost always the end of the fight.

Serious seiges don't happen often - and rarely against neutrals because they have little to lose.

Enemy militia will normally contest strategically important systems to prevent station lockout but system seiges like that are pretty intense for both attacker and defender with the disadvantage being with the attacker to try and maintain momentum in the face of opposition. By seige I mean fighting over several days - not simple I-HUB bash plus contestation.

You may have left the Minmatar at just the wrong time - we had gained a beachhead that threatened Amarr core territory so naturally the Amarr struck at it in force. We noticed when the system shot up to 80% within a matter of days. We contested the system for three straight nights of fights with the Amarr finally taking the system on the 4th night.

Even though we lost it was good fun : )

Taking on a fleet with cap support in a purely sub-cap fleet has been by far the most fun i've ever had in EvE, and I really miss those fights, and I miss the FCs that were capable of getting us into those fights simply by virtue of having the drive to plan out good comps, the intelligence to recognize the utility of EWAR, and the confidence that comes with having a proper comp that isn't just a front-loaded mess of expensive garbage.

DND started out like that, but everyone wanted to get their cap alts onto as many kills as possible. In the end, our counter for anything cruiser up was vindicators and blap dreads. That is if they even logged on for anything less than T3/faction BS kills.

While im posting videos of snufd, heres a good example of us dread blapping their T3 fleet before PL arrived. I recall someone telling me snufd were raging about dreads tracking ab t3's on some silly forum somewhere.

POS warfare is nearly perpendicular to Occupancy Warfare. The only time they overlap is when a corporation puts up a staging POS during a siege.
