Ruby, What are you doing here? What does this have ANYTHING to do with you?

If you got your gifts then you arent affected. Instead you are just venting and otherwise wasting everyone's time.

CCP overruled you. CCP seems to not think your darwin references are relevant. Umad?

It's a pain to find my post, press Edit, and uncheck Receive notifications. It's easier to keep wasting your time with ontopic, rambling replies.

Just because CCP has decided to cave to whiny people too lazy to read the E-Mail, Login Adverts (I remember seeing them several times), Forum Posts and Sticky, Dev Blogs within a week and a half of them doesn't mean i'm mad.

(And if I had picked a marketable gift, the more gifts awarded, the less each is worth. So it would affect me.)

Finally, who's to say "wasting other people's time" (I call it "Contributing to a Discussion") doesn't provide me with sufficient pleasure to justify tearing my eyes away from the adverts on the TV?

You said if you had. That implies you did what many did and picked neural remap. Also the amounts that missed this are very low (I suspect far less than 100 will actually petition over it) combined that many of them will also pick remaps (Including my two) then it doesn't affect you. And even if it did the amounts added to the market would affect it by what? Isk pennies? Seriously?

Trust me if all I would miss out on was ammo or fuel blocks I would say "oh well" and move on. It is only because I will badly need the neural remap in the 2nd half of 2012 that I have requested CCPs help.

More annoying is how CCP considers a month exactly 30 days.

Edit: don't mind the GMT thing. Carry on.

yeah... see that all looks nice on paper up in Iceland, but the reality is most of CCP's funding comes to their local bank account via American corporations (visa, MC Amex) who are known to fold like a cheap suit when the fed decides they want to exercise their muscles.

case in point, wikileaks.

just sayin, you can enter the global marketplace and tell yourself you are not subject to the rules of that marketplace, but it just doesn't work like that in reality.

hmmm, lets review

company sends American customer an email specifying a date of December 21st.
American customer assumes this means local date time
American can assume this because ITS THE GODDAMN LAW according the the United States federal trade commission.
(and before you say anything you might reference your own wacky local trade laws over there in the eurozone, as some of them are dumber then ours)

now quit trolling, CCP is wrong just like they are 75% of the time

oh, BTW
I got my gift in plenty of time, I just think this method of gifting is rotten

i think i did well. i got this far before i had to comment because you people are really just being ridiculous.

1) the world doesn't revolve around the US, or their time zones, do some math and problems are solved
2) they didn't send out an email to their American customers, they sent a communication to their entire customer base. this group of people span every time zone in the world, do some math and problems are solved.
3) Your "GODDAMN LAW" and ego can deal with it, coming in with my " wacky local trade laws" from canada, which are almost carbon copy of your since NAFTA, they dont need to do anything extra because it wasn't a communication sent only to you. the simple act of doing some math would solve some problems
4) CCP is not wrong, you dont understand how your own laws work. you know what would have solved this problem? some math.
5) An American customer might assume that this was local date and time, but that would be a bad call since they should have done a little math and solved that particularly easy problem.
5) why are you leaving it until the last minute? you could have done it 9 hours before the deadline and still be safe. that is a very bad habit to be in, also i have seen two title screen slash ads saying it was UT.
6) you hurt my head

Yeah this is just one minor thing that CCP really messed up on. They need to get someone with their head on straight in charge of this captain obvious stuff they keep messing up.

They hurt their rep every time.

And now force people to go to the petitioner system increasing their own workload that according them is already backlogged to hell and back.

Last time I checked a global market place meant the entire sphere... Not the little bit that America resides in... And compared to the rest of us, Yanks reside in a very small slice of the pie...

On the whole tz debate... one could also say that those who are -12h also receives their gifts (and patches) "before" others just as they claim the gift-handout stopped before the time stated.

Either way I'm glad OP got his gift - I kinda forgot I had a few accounts active myself so I didn't claim stuff either Oops

The Eurozone has ~330million people and is politically and economically fractured with quite a few jurisdictions all of whose laws are very different from each other.

The USA has ~320 million people and is politically and economically united with very few differences between the laws of different states.

Eurozone's GDP is ~$12 trillion USD while the USA's GDP is ~$15 trillion USD. So with that homogeneity to make doing business easier comes a bigger market to play in.

So I'd say the USA is a pretty large slice of the Pie (especially in terms of the MMO market), even if only for the fact that it is one cohesive piece of pie to the Eurozone's chopped up mess.

Just because you managed to weasel pro basketball players being allowed in the Olympics and managed to have all airlines speak English doesn't mean you can suddenly become the new international date line.

No, they think that people should have no life other that Eve. They've never heard of players going on vacation.....Shocked

I did get my gifts, but to institute a system where a number of your paying customers get left out, or have to beg to get something that was a "Present" seems to me to be more of the same attitude.

Never said I wanted to be. Those of us who live in the USA and can't subtract a number between 4 and 8 from another number between 1 and 24 in the base 10 mod 24 system should HTFU and shut up.

I don't want to be the new Zulu. The Brit's got that covered, and have a giant brass ball on top of it.

That doesn't change the fact that US players represent a very large proportion of this and other MMO's player-bases.

No. I refuse to call it by that other name.

It's GMT and will always be GMT regardless of what the other butt hurt countries that weren't the world power at the time it was set say.

The main reason that they shifted from calling it GMT to UTC was actually to help the poor Brits who each spring fail to notice that GMT (nor UTC) has daylight savings, while BST has ;)

And I have to say that I fail to have sympathy for anyone either dump or mentally restricted to understand and cope with international timezones.

Why would we do that???

I have a feeling you're being taken in by foreign facts. You should only trust American manufactured facts. Stop watching the BBC and turn on CNN or FoX. Our facts are better. They make you feel better. They have more truthiness. Our facts are so incredible they make Glen Beck cry tears of pure patriotism.

You're probably getting your facts from Canada or some ****.
