The module says it gives a bonus to mining lasers, and my question is if modulated strip miner II's are considered "mining lasers?"

Yes .. all strip miners, mining lasers, ice harvesters, and I believe Gas Harvesters are considered as mining lasers for the purposes of this module (and it's corresponding implant)..

Afaik, the implant only increases yeild for ore, not ice or gas.

The IMPLANT (in your head) increases your Mining Foreman skill from 10% to 15%. The MODULE increases mining laser range. This applies to ice miners and gas harvesters as well.

There are two other modules, one which reduces cycle time (mining lasers, ice harvesters and gas harvesters) and one that reduces capacitor need.

Yes, I have all of them. My point was that 'corresponding implant' only applies to ore. You don't harvest more ice per cycle when your fleet booster has the foreman implant, afaik.

Mining Foreman Mindlink increases Yield only on all regular mining lasers for your Hulk driver.

The Link modules provide the yield, range, and capacitor (yawn) bonuses. They go in the Orca high slots.

Simple actually.

I only use the Yield Optimization Link, and use the other 2 High slots on the Orca for Salvager and Tractor to clean the belt rat wrecks.

Don't forget the Michi Mining Implant for another 5%. Rather expensive though...........

The capacitor bonus can come in useful is you have a Rorqual boosting the fleet - cycles times get so low you start to run out of cap, especially if you are running any tank at all.

Ah. Thanks for passing on just where that Mod can fit in. I guess there is a use for everything......... ( the Moa Cruiser actually fits 5 Gas Harvesters; otherwise a useless ship. lol)

Keep in mind that there are NO YIELD GANGLINKS. All of the ganglinks should affect Ore, Ice, and Gas modules equally because none of the ganglinks increase yield. The ganglink you're thinking of is the cycle time ganglink, which does increase yield/hour but not the yield itself (meaning that it's just as effective for ice and gas mining as it is for ore mining).

There is an implant that increases your own yield/cycle, but there are no ganglinks or implants at all that increase your fleet's yield/cycle.

Also the higher the tier of ore, the bigger the capacitor penalty of the crystal, but most people mining in hisec would never notice this.
