I think it's really nicely done. Still retains a lot of the style and feel of the original, while now looking a lot more like a predatory attack vessel. Well done, CCP!

I've never flown one (and honestly don't know if I will), but, damn, if that isn't a beautiful looking ship. Gives me hope they can make something equally majestic out of the Rokh whenever they get around to redesigning its hull.

The Caracal is really awesome, and I wonder how the Cerberus will look like. This new Caldari design make these new ships really stand out to me, a jar of cookies to artists Big smile

The new caracal looks fantastic.

The current Chimera has always been one of my favorite models in EVE Online and I am a bit concerned with a re-design. That being said, the new Chimera looks pretty great as well. I will just miss the older design some.

If only they would change the T2 colours a bit, the "gold plated" look on some T2 caldari ships is just silly.

I think I'll have to see the fully rendered (and animated) Chimera to pass final judgement. I will miss the angled 'prow' on the front though.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Caracal still looks a bit like a coat hanger. Front on, it does appear rather aggressive in the picture.

But if you note how thin it is everywhere else, the degree to which its shape is completely unchanged (for example: contrast Moa rev. 1 & current Moa). This "new" Caracal is pretty much unchanged from its former lack luster toothpick box inspired ornament form.

That said, the new Chimera is fantastic! :)

I can't be the only one that thinks the new Chimera looks a bit dull compared to what we have now. I'm not saying it looks bad just that it's missing something that it had...

Very happy with the new Caracal model. Glad they they kept most of the original's shape.

I totally respect the contrary opinion about the Chimera redesign; however if any of you know the lore behind the Chimera, then you'll know that it wasn't actually a carrier per the back story... in my opinion it's too organic, as opposed to the very militaristic organizational culture of the Caldari; almost a left over of before the Caldari separated from the Gallente. But beyond just lore, I love the change, where now it finally looks like a Capital Carrier, instead of a re-purposed water tanker; and except for a few that are attached to the original hull design, this is a very welcome graphic upgrade to an iconic hull.

Very pleased, great job CCP! Can't wait to fly it.

Random aside. I was surprised how many CCP employees pronounced Chimera wrong during Fanfest. So FYI CCP and any random players who don't know. It is pronounced Ki-mee-ra or Ki-mer-a. With a hard K. Not an sh or ch sound.

New Chim looks very nice.

Once upon a time the Golem had a Raven hull and it looked good. Then it transformed into a plataduck. The end.

This. I love the models - amazing work. But I for one don't like current Caldari colors (T1 and T2). In my little world Caldari should look dark, cold and hightech. Not grey with worn/big fat white stripes. Or gold-grey (ugh). Or brown with orange stripes. I'm looking forward to skin them dark again. Hopefully T2 too!

Color-wise the Tengu is the best looking Caldari ship imho. This look applied to the new, cool looking models would be super awesome!

They didn't offer a timeline but it does seem pretty far along. Unlike the vaporware Dominix that they posted at last year's fanfest which was just concept art.
