I was thinking of flying an alt down to one of the Phoebe Freeport Republic Stations for some PeeVeePee and wondered what they are like in terms of marketplace for ships and fittings and if the stocks are good are the costs reasonable, nothing more annoying than paying 300+ % more for everything because it is out in null.

Has anyone done this? is it worth doing on a solo basis?

For the sort of stuff I fly I cannot justify that kind of outlay for something that I dont know how it will turn out. hence the question.

I can't find any evidence you will find what you are looking for when you get out there. The ports don't seem very well stocked, if they are, they are not properly marketing them.
