CSM voting and news - ugh

A few weeks ago I was brand new back into Eve and figured that I might as well vote in CSM. I spent some time looking up info on the candidates (which was frustrating, ESPECIALLY via the official website) and then voted for everyone that seemed to stand for industry (cause I mine and hope to manufacture/research/etc) and lowsec (cause I wish lowsec risk v reward were more balanced).

Today I realized, entirely by chance, that the results were announced last night. I'm not at fanfest and I don't like watching videos (it would get me ganked while I'm mining!), so I first saw the news on a third-party site and then on the official news page. But hell if I can remember the names of the people I voted for, and the link to the official page listing candidates is gone, and I can't find the site I used to help me pick my votes, etc.

Should I just go about my business paying the CSM no mind like the vast majority of Eve-Online players do? Or is there some way for me to get the information I want about who I voted for and info about the new CSM members that doesn't consist of searchfu on google or stumbling around the official eve site links trying to find one that is helpful?

I'm also a bit dissapointed. Especially since I was looking for the results the other day. Wouldn't hurt to publish the new CSM in the relevant section of the form or such. Maybe they will get to that after the fanfest.

As to your second problem, I don't think anyone could help you. Apparantly all pages referring to the election are deleted. IRL you also can't call the polls after election and ask where you made your little cross with elections being secret and such.

Yes.

But don't forget to blame them for anything that is wrong with how you want everyone to be playing the game.

Well, there is a CSM Campaigns subforum, and you can still see all the candidates who posted, and what their agendas were, so you could probably figure out who you voted for, from that.

Otherwise, the CSM representatives can have agendas, but their role is to provide feedback to CCP about things that CCP is adding to the game, and to act as communication liaisons between us and CCP. So, since CCP has announced in several dev blogs that this year they are focusing on nullsec sov changes, the rebalancing of capital ships, and, it looks like, a revamp of stations and other anchorable assets in space, that's what the CSM representatives will have to deal with.

Basically, they won't be able to talk about industry at a meeting with CCP that is supposed to be about capital ship changes; industry will be off-topic.

The CSM voting page says (paraphrasing);

Quote:
Your vote was anonymously record on this date at that time.

CCP can't tell you who you voted for.

That said, Eve Vote Match still works. Go look there.

You can be as delusional as you wish. However, when the majority is saying, "Don't drink from that pond," it might be a good idea to follow suit. I have to wonder, if you do recall who you voted for what do you do then? It's not like any of them plan to listen to the likes of "you" (read: us). CSM is a public relations gimmick designed to give the illusion of customer input. You don't really think they're there to do anything, do you?

I wanted to figure out how the people I voted for fared, and if any of them are on the CSM now, re-read their little platform that convinced me to vote for them and dream of them actually effectuating change that I'd like to see.

What the hell do you care what goes on in my head, anyways? P

What do names have to do with anything? Of course I can't remember the spaceshipnames of a dozen people I've never played with and who I only voted for because their platform sounded nice to me.

I saw a Twitter post from Mittani that they "sweeped" the CSM.

And this is why when I hear "hurr durr CCP don't listen to CSM hurr durr" I'm glad because if the CSM had the kind of power *some* people around here thinks it should have, then every time we undocked while not being a member of CFC our ships would explode automatically.

I did not bother to vote this time. Frankly we don't need a CSM. This is not supposed to be a democracy. It's bad enough RL democracy is so weaponized and it's becoming a suicide pact with stupidity. I don't pay a sub fee so I can get a taste of RL when I'm trying to get a break from it.

Interesting. It has been a bad experience because you didn't pay enough attention to who you were voting for and also can not be bothered to watch a stream. You will get far in this game.

As a newer player, voting for CSM doesn't seem to matter much. The people are typically always a Member of one of the super alliances, and don't even play the game. They just like space politics and free stuff. The whole Goons recruiting Cor stuff really shows me that there's no point in following the CSM as a new player who isn't apart of a super Alliance.

Maybe if who you voted for is important to remember you could use a trick we used to use back in the pre-Internet days..... Write it down? It's a bit analog, I know, but a graphite stylus and compressed plant fibre sheet can do wonders

Yeah... I don't think the null blocks would vote for Chance Ravinne...? But I did! On all 4 accounts. And I still didn't really expect him to get in. He must be an alt of a Goon.

I also voted for Sabriz who seemed to have a lot of support but he didn't make it. Weird.

I voted for 6 or 7 people, same votes across all my accounts, but those are the only two I can remember voting for lol.

Chance has a strong following from Youtube. People voted because they like his videos.

Yes.
Once again, CSM has been voting in by and respresents a minority.
