No such luck.

Additional things I have noticed causing freezes/crashing
1) Plugging in or unplugging a USB headset, especially if it causes your default audio device to change
2) Quitting the game on 1 client when multiple clients are running will cause all other clients to freeze and require a force quit. Safe logoff is ok, but as soon as you Quit, all clients freeze.

It's been stable on my end as well for the past few days. Immediately prior to that it was the main client experiencing instability (the two clones were stable). The frame rate has been all over the place but substantially lower than it was an update or two ago. I'm still tweaking various settings to get an optimal setup, but it's a work in-progress.

I was running 3 clients and had one lock up a two ago. Firefox was running, so I guess that is what did it. Last night I kept Firefox off and ran 3 clients for 4 hours with no issue.

I was able to trace the same issue to Safari. I'm not sure if it's related to the series of OS X updates that Apple released last week or one of the EVE Tiamat updates (I noticed this immediately after the Dust514 one), but EVE and Safari no longer love to work and play together.

EVE|EVE clients + Safari = EVE unstable with 50%+ loss in frame rate
Safari + EVE = sluggish Safari performance

Which sucks, as I used to enjoy catching up on the forums while running missions.

I have been getting a crash of late when I unplug my USB headset.
Did a pram reset and a few other maintenance options but to no luck.

Someday soon I will do a complete OS reinstall.

Please don't do an OS reinstall, this is a problem that will hopefully be fixed with our next Cider update.

Without pinning you boys & girls down on a date, is that update in the days, weeks or month's time frame?

Cool. Any chance we might see Cider support beyond the current DX9? I'd really like to see what the graphics look like under the "High" shader setting.

I‘ve got frequent crashes lately, too.

iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011)
3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB

I have been running fine since the Scylla update, but upon login this morning, my screen goes black and is in window mode.

I can scroll across where my main and alts are and can "select" one and I hear the hangar, but the screen is black.

If I force non-window mode, the screen is white.

Is there any reason the game would play, but the graphics are not showing?

I've tried deleting and re-installing the client, but to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Four times for me today, unfortunately. All doing weird things: warping to a bookmark, scooping an MTU...

Only one of my clones keeps crashing with the following msg :
'Exception raised
Unhandled page fault on write access

All other clones seem to work fine. Any ideas?

EDIT - Problem solved by deleting the shared cache folder for the clone and leaving the alias file

Client crash if you change Audio input device.
For example you can connect Bluetooth handset and try to change Audio input in preferences to Built in microphone. And Eve online will crash :(

Still crashing on my end, too. When I go through a gate, loot a wreck, shoot an NPC rat... There doesn't seem to be anything consistent that would link any of these actions... other than that I'm on a Mac.

If you have two clients open in window mode, sometimes closing one will cause the other to hang.

Since the Scylla update, I have had much more regular Client crashes. It seemed to have improved since Tiamat when I went to Windowed mode and dumbed down all of the graphics to the point where there is no detail in anything, but at least the client was relatively stable (wouldn't crash multiple times a day). Since Scylla, my client crashes every 5-60 minutes randomly:

Docking/Undocking
Jumping through a gate
Scanning for anomalies
Bookmarking
Opening my cargohold
Etc (you get the point)

I generally only have 1 other application running at the same time as EVE: Mumble and using the overlay

Prior to Scylla, this was not a problem. Since the increase in crashes, I stopped using Mumble and ran EVE and nothing else. No improvement in the frequency of client crashes.

The failure mode is always the same:
Game freezes for 2-10 seconds.
I open the Activity Monitor to see what is going on
EVE Client is using 47% CPU, then 59%, then 82%, then 103%
At this point, the Client crashes and I get this error window:

"Exception raised
Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000024
at address 0x7001c524

Would you like to create a crash report?"

I always say yes, at which point, the client closes down and I have to re-start.

I have not yet tried turning off the sound but at this rate, I may as well be playing one of the 80's arcade style games with just vector graphics and no sound :(

2014 5K Retina iMac
4GHz Intel Core i7
16GB
AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB
Yosemite 10.10.2

It SURE would be nice to have a OSX 10.10.# stable CIDER client. I hope "weeks" doesn't turn into "months" or worse!

This problem can be addressed by creating clones to use for multiple clients. You can find a guide here
